And for them to take guys crashing on him is not even fair either.”The Blackhawks have been struggling even with Crawford in the lineup. ANAHEIM Matt Bartkowski Jersey Womens , Calif. (AP) — The Anaheim Ducks had all weekend to stew over their worst game of the season. They responded Monday night with a win against the NHL’s top team.Rickard Rakell’s goal in the fourth round of the shootout propelled the Ducks past Nashville 2-1 and handed the Predators their first road loss this season.“We felt that we embarrassed ourselves with our effort and competitiveness in the last game (a 5-1 loss Friday to Minnesota) and we needed a response game to feel good about ourselves. Josh Allen has the big arm. He has the size. And Youth Maxx Williams Jersey , now, he has the opportunity to take over as Buffalo's starting quarterback.Bills coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday the rookie will make his first career start on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.Allen replaces second-year pro Nathan Peterman, who struggled badly in a 47-3 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. Peterman threw for 24 yards and two interceptions before being replaced by Allen in the second half.McDermott declined to elaborate on his thought process behind the decision, instead saying it was "the right move" for his team more than 10 times."I don't feel the need, honestly, to elaborate," McDermott said. "We talk a lot in-house about decisions and things and what we've got to do and the right move at the right time, and right now, with all respect to your question, this is the right move for us."The move is a jarring and significant change for Buffalo, which planned on bringing along the strong-armed, raw passer at a calculated and methodical rate before inserting him into the lineup. Chosen seventh overall this spring, Allen has ideal physical tools but has been considered a developmental prospect at the position. The Bills, however, were forced into making a change following one of the worst losses in franchise history."Whoever's the quarterback, we've got to roll," running back LeSean McCoy said. "I'm confident in Josh. He's very talented, he's extremely smart, intelligent. So I'm happy with the move. Nate's a good friend of mine, he had his shot. We've got to move on. That's the type of business this is."Allen did his best to downplay the significance of his first career start while acknowledging that it was a lifelong dream."I've got game experience and now I'm just starting a game http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/nick-boyle-jersey-authentic ," Allen said. "I'm just looking to do my job, try and be 1/11th of this team and this offense, and just help this team in any way possible to win football games.""Obviously I'm super excited and thankful for the chance to be the starter of this team. This is something I've dreamed for a long time. But now that it's here, come Sunday I'm just trying to do my job. I'm not trying to do too much. Trust in those around me and ultimately trying to be the quarterback that this team needs."Allen got a taste of regular-season action Sunday against Baltimore, entering the game when it was well out of reach in the third quarter. He showed some flashes while enduring his share of growing pains, completing 6 of 15 passes for 74 yards while being sacked three times.McDermott saw some positives in that time, noting Allen wasn't overwhelmed by the circumstances."I thought his command of the offense was there," McDermott said. "There were some things that he did well in getting us in and out of the huddle. Those are the things you don't take for granted when a young player's out there. And then after the snap, executed fairly well at times, and there were other times where we need to execute better."It's not just the quarterbacks who struggled against Baltimore, however, and the Bills will need a lot more from their other positions to have any chance of rebounding against the Chargers. The Bills were blown out by Los Angeles last season, 54-24. That was Peterman's first career start, when the QB tossed five interceptions in one half. Now the Chargers will face Allen in his first career start."The one thing I'm going to talk to the offense about, especially the skill guys, is that (the key) for a rookie quarterback to have a good game is to make it easy on them," McCoy said. "Catching the ball, giving him confidence, moving the chains ... everything to get that extra advantage is critical and big for a rookie's confidence.""If I had to draft a quarterback, I would draft a kid like him Youth Maurice Canady Jersey ," McCoy added. "He's mobile, he's tall, he's strong. He's not afraid, he's smart and has a big arm."NOTES: The Bills claimed guard Ike Boettger off waivers from Kansas City on Wednesday. Boettger joined the Bills as an undrafted free agent this spring but was released as part of final cuts on Sept. 1. Buffalo released cornerback Ryan Lewis to make room for Boettger. ... The Bills also signed Kyle Peko to their practice squad, releasing offensive lineman Gerhard de Beer. Lamar Jackson isn't staying awake at night thinking about the prospect of making his first NFL start.Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco missed practice Wednesday because of a hip injury, and his status for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals is uncertain. If Flacco can't go, coach John Harbaugh likely will turn to Jackson, whose first pro season thus far has been spent taking a few snaps per game in run situations."I'm going into it just like any other week. Just preparing for whatever," Jackson said. "Everything is still the same."Starting at quarterback for a team desperate to end a three-game skid might cause some rookies to squirm, but Jackson insisted he's sleeping "like a baby."Flacco hurt his hip early in a 23-16 loss to Pittsburgh on Nov. 4. He had the bye week to recover, but is still receiving treatment, meaning his availability for Baltimore (4-5) against the Bengals (5-4) could come down to a game-time decision.Harbaugh appears done talking about it."Rather than tip my toe in the water and start answering one question and then not answering the next one, I'm just not going to get into it. I'm just going to leave it alone," he said. "I feel like we don't owe anybody any answers."If Flacco can't play, veteran Robert Griffin III will likely serve as backup to the rookie he's been mentoring since summer. Griffin, like Jackson, was a running quarterback who had to make the transition into a passing league.Griffin won the Heisman Trophy as a junior at Baylor and finished with 2,254 yards rushing with 33 touchdowns. Jackson won the Heisman in 2016 and finished with 4,132 yards on the ground with 50 touchdowns. Now they're together in Baltimore, trying to get the Ravens into the postseason."Everybody wants to be a part of a winner http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/alex-collins-jersey-authentic ," Griffin said. "This franchise has done a lot of winning; we just got to make sure that we get back to that."After sitting out last season, Griffin launched his comeback by signing in April with the Ravens, presumably to be Flacco's backup. He dropped to No. 3 on the depth chart soon after Baltimore traded up to get Jackson in the first round.Though he has 41 career starts (including playoffs), Griffin will likely serve as a backup Sunday if Flacco can't play. At least he will be in uniform after spending the first nine weeks on the inactive list."I haven't been OK not playing," Griffin said. "I think if I was OK not playing, then I wouldn't be the competitor that I've grown to be. But within that, you have to control what you can."He will do what he's asked on Sunday, but makes no secret of his desire to start."It would be awesome," Griffin said. "It's been a heck of a journey, but coming here was the best thing I could've done. Knowing what it means to play like a Raven and growing with these guys has been something that's been real special for me. If I get that opportunity to go out there and play, I'm going to make most of it and show these guys not only how hard I've been working, but how much I believe in them."Griffin wants to win, and his main contribution toward that end has been to make the 21-year-old Jackson a better quarterback."It's been great. I didn't think I'd be a big brother at 28," Griffin said. "I've got two older sisters, I'm the baby of the family, but it's been great to take Lamar under my wing and kind of be that big-brother figure to him. His future is very bright."

There is the ‘Must Start’ which either (1) an elite player you drafted early that you play every week or (2) a player with a match-up to juicy to pass by. In some cases you may have an even better option to play so in that case adjust appropriately. The second tier is players you drafted high but may not have great match-ups and you got nothing better on the bench or via waiver. I then list the players you should not start that you might consider at some point this season. I’ll then cap it with any potential sleepers in this match-up.So let’s get to it.Must StartWR Odell Beckham, QB Cam Newton, RB Saquon Barkley, RB Christian McCaffreyThese should be pretty safe starts all around. I would love to say Barkley will disappoint against the Panthers run defense but his ability to hit a crease and take it a distance is something we’ve seen other running backs do already this season. Start if you have toQB Eli Manning, Panthers defense, K Graham GanoIf the Panthers can contain Barkley then they have a chance to create turnovers and keep the score down. Do not startRB C.J. Anderson Michael Palardy Jersey , WR Devin Funchess, TE Ian Thomas, WR Curtis Samuel, WR Torrey Smith, WR Jarius WrightFunchess draws Janoris Jenkins who kept Saints WR Michael Thomas in check. I like Samuel’s potential but I have to see at least one game where he gets more than five targets before I spend a roster spot on him. In general Panthers wide receivers are too inconsistent to start in fantasy on a regular basis. Instead you should look for a good match-up.Sleeper picksWR Sterling Sheppard, WR DJ Moore Authentic Cam Newton Jersey , TE Rhett EllisonThe slot receiver will play a key role in both offenses, hence the Sheppard and Moore recommendations. This is provided those snaps don’t go to recently returned Curtis Samuel.Bonus helpHead to head match-up analysisSo in one of the my leagues I have both Matt Ryan and Cam Newton. I’m a little torn between who to start given how hot Ryan has been, which is the direction I am leaning. I also understand how well Newton plays at home. So I turned to a match-up analyzer. Here’s what it says. That is a solid lean to Newton you would say in layman's terms. In statistical terms it is ‘significant’. I’m putting Newton in and we will see next week is the collective experts know anything.Keep Pounding!

Chris Thompson Chokes Back Tears While Addressing Guice Injury One of the highlights of the 2017 season in Washington was the emergence of running back Chris Thompson as one of the premiere offensive weapons in Burgundy and Gold. His fifth full season in the league was a coming out of sorts Ryan Kerrigan Jersey , primarily for his role in the passing game where here tallied a career-high 51 yards per game through the air. He also established himself as perhaps Redskins’ best blocking back in pass protection as well. Thompson was on pace to set career highs in stats all across the board before his season was cut short when he fractured his fibula in crushing week 11 overtime loss in New Orleans.Having sat out the preseason week 1 opener against the Patriots, Thompson is still on the mend, and looking to make his return to the field by the start of the regular season. However, in speaking with the media this week he was clearly heavily affected by the season-ending injury of his fellow tailback Derrius Guice, whose torn ACL landed him on the IR earlier this week.Thompson choked back tears as his emotions were clearly running high when discussing the injury to his rookie position-mate Cheap Trent Williams Jersey , whom many assumed would work in tandem with the fifth-year pro this season. After signing a two-year extension last fall that keeps Thompson in Washington through the 2019 season, he has taken the reigns as one of the leaders in the locker room, which is becoming all the more evident in situations like these. Now with one fewer weapon in the backfield this season, Thompson will be leaned on heavily this season to lead the way on the field among the Redskins running back corps once again. Trent Williams injured his thumb in last week's win over the Giants. He went to visit a specialist in Pittsburgh to evaluate the extent of the injury, and the need for surgery. Dr. Jay Gruden told us yesterday that Williams did have the surgery and would miss tomorrow's game against the Falcons. He said Williams would be week to week Youth Chase Roullier Jersey , but gave no firm timeline for a return.Dan Graziano reported yesterday afternoon that Williams will be out a few weeks while he recovers from the surgery. "About a month" could include this week's home game against Atlanta, a road trip against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hosting the Houston Texans, and Thanksgiving Day against the Cowboys in Dallas. Williams has played through injury before, and could return sooner Womens Zach Brown Jersey , but we'll have to see how he responds to his second surgery in less than a year. The Redskins will once again turn to backup tackle Ty Nsekhe to man the left tackle spot until Williams returns. Gruden has a lot of confidence in him, and luckily he's needed on the left side of the line where his play has been much better. Third round pick Geron Christian Sr. will be active for the first time in his career, and will be the swing tackle behing Nsekhe and RT Morgan Moses. Custom Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys
Ravens News 8/30: Backup quarterback battle Authentic Alex Collins Jersey , Perriman likely cut and more Press Pass – NFL previews for every matchup during preseason Week 4 - Pro Football FocusIf the Ravens were comfortable with Ryan Mallett as their backup quarterback in seasons when Joe Flacco was returning from injury, Lamar Jackson seems plenty capable of manning that role. Furthermore, trading or releasing Griffin would allow the team to roster an additional offensive lineman, tight end or cornerback, positions where extra depth would be useful due to recent injuries and suspension. Filmstudy: Jackson Rebounds Against Dolphins - Ken McKusickWith a week and a half until the season opener, three of the five starting offensive line jobs are still undetermined.NFL roster bubble watch: Potential cut candidates, trade targets - Gregg RosenthalPerriman’s time in Baltimore is seemingly coming to an end after three unremarkable, injury marred seasons. Take it to the Bank podcastA review of the Ravens preseason win over the Dolphins, regular season roster preview and injury news.Ravens vs. Rams preseason Week one: Who’s playing, who’s not The Baltimore Ravens are set to host the Los Angeles Rams in Week one of the preseason. Since it is the preseason Womens Willie Snead IV Jersey , teams are not required to release an official inactive list. Below is the unofficial inactive list. At this point, Kenneth Dixon, Quincy Adejoyejo, Randin Crecelius, Marshal Yanda, Maurquice Shakir, Maxx Williams, Darren Waller, Tim White, Tony Jefferson Authentic Tavon Young Jersey , Tyus Bowser, Bam Bradley, Jaylen Hill, and Bennett Jackson appear to be the only inactives for the Ravens. As expected, wide receiver and return specialist Tim White will not play in tonight’s game. He has missed every practice following the Hall of Fame Game with an undisclosed injury. White’s absence will open up opportunities for Jordan Lasley and Janarion Grant to get more reps returning kicks and punts. There were no changes to the PUP list, which means that Jaylen Hill, Quincy Adejoyejo, and Bam Bradley will not play. Randin Crecelius and Maurquice Shakir both received extended playing time in the Hall of Fame Game, but neither player has practiced this week. They are both dealing with undisclosed injuries that head coach John Harbaugh has claimed are ‘not serious’.Starting safety Tony Jefferson is dealing with a ‘pull’ that is not expected to keep him on the sideline for an extended period of time, but the Ravens are exercising caution with their high-profile free agent signing from a year ago. Despite passing his physical and practicing for the first time this week Womens Alex Lewis Jersey , Marshal Yanda will not play against the Rams. This was expected as Harbaugh announced that he would not play during his press conference earlier in the week. Running back Kenneth Dixon, who appeared to be playing tonight, is not expected to play. With Dixon out, the three undrafted free agent running backs, Gus Edwards, Mark Thompson, and De’Lance Turner, will get another game with extended reps. Tight end Maxx Williams, who suffered an ankle injury during practice on Tuesday, will not play tonight. He is considered to be on the roster bubble Womens Michael Crabtree Jersey , and he desperately needs to put together a solid preseason to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster. Unfortunately, Williams will have one less preseason game to prove himself. Another player on the roster bubble, Bennett Jackson, is also not playing tonight after he had an impressive showing in the Hall of Fame Game. Linebacker Tyus Bowser returned to practice this week, but he is also missing tonight’s game against the Rams. Recently reinstated tight end Darren Waller, who did not practice on Tuesday, is also sitting out. He was not expected to play, but he could be a practice squad candidate if he has a good showing in the preseason. As for the Rams, only two starters are expected to play tonight: Jamon Brown and Samson Ebukam.
Panthers 2018 season opener countdown: 58 days to go We are 58 days away from the beginning of the Carolina Panthers 2018 season. That means today we take a closer look at linebacker Thomas Davis.Thomas Davis Cheap Shaq Thompson Jersey , LinebackerBioHeight: 6’1”Weight: 235 lbsAge: 35College: GeorgiaNFL Experience: 14 yearsThomas Davis has been with the Panthers since they drafted him with the No. 14 pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. Since entering the league, he has been a three-time Pro Bowler (2015-2017), First-Team All Pro (2015), Second-Team All Pro (2013), and the Walter Payton Man of the Year (2014).Needless to say, Davis is one of the best linebackers in the NFL. This is especially true when you consider that he’s the only player in the history of the league to recover from three ACL injuries and not only continue his career, but get better. He is the physical embodiment of the ‘Keep Pounding’ slogan that was coined by former Panthers linebacker Sam Mills, and is widely considered as one of the best representatives of the Panthers on and off the field.Davis made waves back in January when he stated that 2018 would be his last season, but later said he was ‘very open to playing beyond 2018’ after he announced that he was suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season for violating the league’s PED policy. The one benefit for the Panthers regarding Davis’ suspension is that they have a more than capable replacement in Shaq Thompson, and they’ll also have a less worn down Thomas Davis when he’s eligible to return to action in Week 6*. It’s unclear if Thompson will continue to be the starter when Davis returns, but at the very least the Panthers will have a solid rotation between the two players. While 2018 may not be the last year for Davis in the NFL, it could be the last year for him in Carolina, provided the Panthers don’t give him a contract extension. If this is indeed his last ride with the Panthers http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-torrey-smith-jersey , hopefully they can send him out on top with a Super Bowl victory, as he’s certainly someone who deserves it.*- Davis is suspended for four games, not four weeks. Since the Panthers have a bye in Week 4, they won’t play their fourth game until Week 5.Information from Wikipedia contributed to this story The Denver Broncos throttle back Von Miller every summer because if they don't, in the words of coach Vance Joseph, "he'll wreck practice."So, Miller saved his wrecking ball for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.Miller collected four quarterback hits, three sacks, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in leading the Broncos to a 27-24 win in Case Keenum's Denver debut .Miller was in the Seahawks' backfield seemingly as much as Seattle running back Chris Carson, who was pick-pocketed in the second half as Miller simply snatched the ball out of his hands in one of the best plays of opening weekend."Technically, that's not a good move," Miller said with a chuckle http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jarius-wright-jersey , noting he should have set the edge instead of tossing aside fullback Tre Madden."You want to be stout, shock and scare. But I 'ole'ed' outside, so I knew I needed to get back down to be able to make the tackle. I just saw the ball and I just grabbed it."Miller said in the lead-up to the opener that he hates playing Wilson, whom he considers the best QB in the game. Yes, ahead of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, the only three who were ranked higher in The Associated Press quarterback rankings that came out Friday."I still don't like playing against Russell," Miller said. "Running around out there, 20 yards, getting everybody tired. Luckily, we were able to get him before he could get started. That was in our scheme this week, we wanted to keep him in the pocket and (make) him beat us with his arm, which he's capable of doing."But we'd rather pick that poison and that strategy worked."Wilson threw for 298 yards and three TDs Cheap Ian Thomas Jersey , but was picked off twice and sacked six times and ran just twice for 5 yards."He got out of the pocket a couple of times, but that's Russ," Miller said. "He's a great player. He's going to get out of the pocket, but we kept some of the great plays to a minimum."Miller didn't get to face Wilson in Super Bowl 48 because he'd blown out a knee toward the end of the 2013 season, the only one in his first seven years in the NFL when he didn't reach double digits in sacks.Miller was back in the Super Bowl two years later and won the game's MVP honors after harassing Cam Newton, whom he strip sacked twice, leading to 15 points in Denver's 24-10 win over the Panthers. The Broncos haven't been back to the playoffs since, going 14-18 over the past two years.Although Miller collected 23陆 sacks in that time, too many deficiencies on the roster and deficits on the scoreboard kept him from being the difference maker he was Sunday. That doesn't mean he saw his performance as anything more than a good start."You know me, I never move faster than I have to. I never move slower than I need to," Miller said. "I just stay in the moment. We've got a great team. We got a great win today. We played great defense. This is how you want to start a season."His three sacks moved him into 50th on the NFL's all-time sack list with 86陆."It's great, to be 29 and in the top 50, the league has been around for close to 100 years now Mike Adams Jersey ," Miller said. "It's great, man. It's a true blessing."At one point Sunday, the giant scoreboard showed Miller inhaling oxygen on the sideline after one of his big plays and the crowd roared."I wasn't even paying attention and I look up and Case is telling everybody to be quiet," Miller recounted. "I kind of felt bad for a second."It wasn't the only time Miller interrupted Keenum's focus, either.Keenum normally spends his time between series on the bench studying pictures of formations and talking with to his coaches, "but it's hard not to notice when the crowd's going crazy and Von's out there crawling or whatever he's doing, whatever his sack dance is. That's impressive to watch."I'm glad I'm on the sidelines when he's on the field, that's for sure."Wilson wasn't so lucky."I think that when it's third-and-3 or 4, I've spun out and make a lot of plays," Wilson said. "I would probably say most of the time it works."With a guy like Von, sometimes it doesn't."
Dolphins add Wesley Johnson Authentic Jason Sanders Jersey , Cameron Malveaux The Miami Dolphins have announced a series of roster moves on Tuesday. The moves began with placing center Daniel Kilgore on injured reserve with a torn triceps muscle and releasing defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. To fill those two roster positions, the team promoted defensive end Cameron Malveaux and signed free agent center Wesley Johnson.Kilgore was acquired this offseason via a trade from the San Francisco 49ers http://www.miamidolphinsteamonline.com/jerome-baker-jersey , a move that allowed the team to release Mike Pouncey. Kilgore immediately assumed the role of starter and seemed to lock down the middle of the offensive line. He was injured early in the team’s game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, with Travis Swanson replacing him in the game.Phillips has been frustrated as his playing time has declined with the team preferring to play Davon Godchaux and Vincent Taylor to Phillips at times. He had an incident on the sideline during the team’s game against the Patriots and now find himself waived by the club.Malveaux was undrafted out of Houston Authentic Kenny Stills Jersey , signing initially with the Dolphins in 2017, spending most of the season on the practice squad. He was promoted by the Dolphins near the end of the league Authentic Minkah Fitzpatrick Jersey , appearing in four games. Johnson joins the Dolphins after entering the league in 2014 as a fifth round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was waived by the Steelers in October of that year, joining the New York Jets where he played through 2017. He spent training camp this summer with the Detroit Lions. He has appeared in 43 games with 24 starts.2018 Hall of Fame Inductees Announcement I would first like to apologize for the delay in getting the results up for everyone and we still have more voting to go which has also been delayed as life continues to get in the way. With The Jets On Deck Youth Jamison Crowder Jersey , Whose Stock Is Rising And Who Needs To Bounce Back? In less than a week following the Redskins pre-season opener against the New England Patriots, there has been a significant deal of change since the final whistle. On the field, there were surprise performances for better or worse and even unfortunate injuries that have taken place that resulted in better positioning for other players who may not have been projected as a candidate for the final 53-man roster. Even some players who did not play gave way to other players at the bottom of the depth chart to see significant snaps against New England. The injuries to rookie Derrius Guice and second-year wide receiver Robert Davis have knocked them out for the 2018 season, leaving openings at their position to be filled. Also, the absence of starters in the secondary allowed third and fourth string players to see significant snaps Thursday. Who all had stocks rise and fall heading into the New York Jets match-up?Rising Stock:鈥?Cam Sims – Playmaker mentality can attack the football and thinks “score” when the ball is in his hands. Added value to a receiving group. With Robert Davis down, he may be a serious contender for the final roster.鈥?Tim Settle – Settle played lights out in his debut. Despite admitting that his conditioning is not where it needs to be, he left many with a great impression with his strength and motor at the nose tackle position. 鈥?Colt McCoy – McCoy led the Redskins to 17 first-half points in an efficient manner. He displayed accuracy in the short to intermediate level throws while being able to elude rushers and throw on the run on multiple occasions, solidifying the belief from coaches he is one of the better back-ups in the league.鈥?Kapri Bibbs / Byron Marshall– Both Bibbs and Marshall showed good acceleration and explosiveness at times when touching the football. Bibbs had the longest rush of the night late in the game, and Marshall had the longest receiving touchdown of the night. Marshall showed why he is a viable option in the passing game. Both are worth keeping around when the season comes around. 鈥?Greg Stroman/Shaun Dion Hamilton – Stroman was impressive in coverage and showed his natural punt-return abilities in his debut. Hamilton was all over the field defensively making tackles for his unit. Both being late round draft picks for Washington, and if they can pay off for the Redskins, this would be a significant thing moving forward for the defense.Falling Stock:鈥?Samaje Perine – Outside of Derrius Guice, Perine had the most impressive runs of the night. He displayed the strength and power that many expected him to play with his rookie season. However, it was not all pretty. For Perine, 2017 was all about ball security, as he had fumbling issues throughout the season. He fumbled in his first exhibition game of 2018, and whether or not the whistle was blown dead, this is not the right way to start a season when being evaluated by coaches.鈥?Geron Christian – Yes it was his first game, but Christian did not have an impressive or even adequate performance against New England. To be selected in the third round for Washington, he has a long ways to go.鈥?Brian Quick/Trey Quinn – I firmly believe that either Quick or Quinn will make the roster when it is all said and done. The issue here is that Quick did not play Thursday and Quinn was knocked out of the game early. From the outside looking in, there is no telling if Quick’s absence from week one was because he was favored by coaches or not. However, Quick missing time is not good if younger guys like Maurice Harris and Cam Simms can continue to perform. Trey Quinn’s injury is a reason his stock has dropped in my eyes. Not a significant drop, but without being able to show what he can do in-game it is hard to say he is one-up on any receiver on the team.鈥?Kevin Hogan – It was a tough performance for the DC-local. While he was under center in the second half, the offense went scoreless, produced less than 100 yards, and had a turnover deep in New England territory. If he is a developmental project, he has to improve his play drastically in weeks to come.Who are you looking forward to seeing in their upcoming matchup against the Jets? Discuss who you’re buying or selling in the comments below. The Redskins got consecutive wins for the first time this season with a win against their division rival. The Dallas Cowboys are not a great team by any means, but history is history and Dallas has run through the Redskins the past four match-ups. That losing streak ended along with the five straight home losses to Dallas as well. In a game that was dominated by the Redskins defense, Washington gave many people much to look forward to for the rest of the season on that side of the ball. The duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott was shut down for the first time in this new era of the rivalry Josh Norman Jersey , and Elliott was held to 33 rushing yards on the day. There is much more to be discussed, so here is what we learned from the week seven matchup.Relax, quit the talks; Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan have a pulse.Cornerback Josh Norman went through the same thing last week, his play to that point of the season was underwhelming and had cost the Redskins on a few big plays for scores. Norman quieted the noise, proving he was still a playmaker and solid cornerback for the Redskins against the Carolina Panthers. Credit well deserved. This week the credit goes to pass rushers Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan for their considerable contributions in a significant game for the Redskins. In last week’s post, I mentioned “Any day now, Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith will make a difference as a pass rusher,” and it could not have come at a better time. Both Kerrigan and Smith totaled for two quarterback hits each, Kerrigan had two sacks and a forced fumble deep in Cowboys territory that was recovered by none other than Preston Smith for a touchdown. The script could not have been written any better for the two and maybe the starting point for a much better season than what was before week six. Always remember when it comes to Smith and Kerrigan, consistency is key, and impacting a game to this effect cannot be a one-time occurrence. There is no fluke about it; the front seven is legit.Since Greg Manusky has taken over, there was nothing tricky or complicated about what he wanted to do as a defensive coordinator. All Manusky wanted to get accomplished here was to be physical and stop the run. When a defense can stop the run and force a team to become one dimensional, the defense can attack the quarterback. The Cowboys running backs were held to 40 yards on 16 carries Sunday, and Dak Prescott threw 35 passes and was sacked four times. The Redskins “Alabama Wall” as people are starting to refer to defensive lineman Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen, are wrecking offensive game plans up front. The defensive line in general, which has only been a rotation of Payne, Allen, and Matt Ioannidis, has been dominant. With those three being able to crash the quarterback pocket in passing situations and control the line of scrimmage in the run game, it bodes well for the second-line where the linebackers have free lanes to attack the ball carrier or beat a running back on a blitz assignment. There is a growing need of a punt returner, Greg Stroman is struggling. Rookie cornerback Greg Stroman has been on punt return duties for multiple games now and has had hardly any impact as a returner. It is one of two things in my opinion that is keeping him from flourishing, Stroman is scared to make a mistake and does not trust himself, or he does not see the field properly before fielding the ball. There were multiple occasions for Stroman in which he fair caught a punt with plenty of room to gain yards, hurting an already struggling offense that would need the excellent field position. Reluctantly, I am willing to give him a couple more games to see if there is an improvement, but from what I am seeing it is hard to say that will do much for him. Although the play-calling was an issue throughout the game for Jay Gruden, there is no doubt coaching played a significant part in the victory. The big issue of play-calling was a problem in short down and distances for Washington multiple times throughout the game, no doubt about it. Head coach Jay Gruden forgot Adrian Peterson was a Hall of Fame running back who has a high chance of getting a first down three yards and in Youth Chase Roullier Jersey , heading north and south. Instead he continued to run off tackle which is wasted motion. That has been a concern in games, mainly the Dallas and Indianapolis Colts, Gruden has to do a better job at recognizing the better percent chances of converting for first downs. Here is the good, the Cowboys defensive line is one of the best in the league, Alex Smith was only sacked once. The pass protection, for the most part, did a very good job in one-on-ones and handling stunt pickups. Washington on multiple occasions in previous Cowboys matchups, and even this year against the Colts, have struggled against the stunts. Coaching and preparation have proven to be useful for the players, and that is a good sign moving forward against more significant challenges. Josh Doctson is becoming more of an emphasis, but he and Alex Smith still cannot get right. The Redskins coaching staff understands the importance of Josh Doctson to this offense. Regardless of the perception of the fanbase, or even those within the organization, he is a first-round pick who is expected to contribute. Doctson has had at least five targets over the last four games, against the Cowboys he had six, and finished with three catches for a season-high 42 yards. Those aren’t numbers to get excited about; however, Doctson is being looked at more often as well as relied upon schematically. For whatever reason though, Smith and Doctson cannot connect outside of the hashes or downfield consistently to this point. There were a couple of opportunities in which Smith had chances and was just inaccurate in his pass. As the season moves along, expect Doctson to continue to get those chances. Hopefully, he and Smith can get on the same page sooner rather than later. While the defense has proven to be playoff worthy, the offensive production has not, and may prove to be costly. The offense once again has been unable to score a touchdown in the second half and was mainly a non-factor after the first quarter. There is no secret that the Redskins defense won the game for this team, not a problem at all. However, in the long run, if the Redskins offense does not pick up their production in the passing game, it will prove costly. The Redskins were in Dallas territory six times and accumulated just 13 points on those six opportunities. If that does not summarize how terrible the offense has been outside of Adrian Peterson, then something may be wrong with you. The positive going forward is that Alex Smith does protect the football which limits opposing offenses opportunities for extra possessions and opportunities to score. When you face better opponents Smith will have to do much better than just protecting the football.
The Ravens defeat the Bears 17-16 in preseason thriller The Baltimore Ravens have defeated the Chicago Bears 17-16 Cheap Mark Andrews Jersey , and they are now 1-0 in the 2018 preseason. It was an eventful night for the Ravens that featured big performances from several early-round draft picks from previous years, namely Kamalei Correa. He was considered to be on the roster bubble, and he had one of his best games in the NFL albeit it was during the preseason. Correa recorded three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. Baltimore’s defense had the mentality of bend do not break on the first drive. Despite allowing the Bears to drive down the field, Chuck Clark picked off Chase Daniel to halt the drive.Robert Griffin III received the start for Baltimore, and he was fairly impressive. He did have an interception, but the ball deflected off of Breshad Perriman’s hands. On the ensuing drive, Daniel found Burton for a four-yard touchdown. Albert McClellan appeared to be in coverage on the play, but he failed to contain his assignment. Griffin III then led the Ravens on an eight play, 77-yard drive that ended in a touchdown. Undrafted free agent running back Gus Edwards had two big plays: a 16-yard run and a 23 reception. Griffin III hit Maxx Williams for a five-yard touchdown to tie the game at seven. On the next drive, Daniel was picked off by Kamalei Correa, and Baltimore took over on Chicago’s nine-yard line. The Ravens’ offense went three out and settled for three to take the lead 10-7. Josh Woodrum took over for Griffin III late in the first half, yet struggled immensely. It was an interesting decision by the Ravens to play Woodrum before Lamar Jackson http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-willie-snead-iv-jersey , but he ended up playing the entire second half. In his NFL debut, Jackson’s first drive was a three-and-out. On his next drive, he led Baltimore on a six-play, 36-yard drive that ended in a Hayden Hurst eight-yard touchdown. Late in the fourth quarter, Tyler Bray connected with Tanner Gentry for a 10-yard touchdown. Instead of kicking the extra point to tie it up, Bears head coach Matt Nagy kept his offense on the field to go for two. The two-point attempt failed as Bray’s pass fell incomplete. The Ravens then went three-and-out, giving Chicago one last chance to complete a game-winning drive. On Chicago’s final drive, they went turned it over on downs as they were unable to convert on fourth down and the game ended with three kneel downs from Jackson. Aside from Correa, there were several other standouts for Baltimore such as Bronson Kaufusi, Patrick Ricard, Orlando Brown Jr. and Hayden Hurst. The good news for Baltimore is the fact that they came out of this game healthy. One of the most significant concerns for them once it was announced that they would be playing an extra preseason game was injuries, but it appears the injury bug did not bite them on Thursday night. The Ravens defense forced four turnovers, including two interceptions. Despite not having several key starters Cheap Hayden Hurst Jersey , they were still aggressive. However, the biggest concern after the Hall of Fame game should be the rule changes, specifically the new helmet to helmet rule. There were several controversial calls and some inconsistencies with the execution of this new rule, but there were two notable flags that will likely be talked about in the upcoming weeks. One of those flags was called in the end zone as Hayden Hurst was attempting to catch the ball, and he was hit in the upper body. However, the officials deemed it an illegal hit, claiming the defender lead with his helmet. The other controversial call was against Ravens defensive back Bennett Jackson. As the intended target bobbled the football, Jackson hit him in the upper body. By rule, this is less controversial as he appears to have led with his helmet and hit a defenseless receiver, but it was still a questionable flag. The new rule changes will be something worth monitoring moving forward, but the Ravens are now 1-0 in the preseason. They will get Friday off before returning to the practice field on Saturday in preparation for their second preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams.Ravens final injury report: Four players ruled out The Baltimore Ravens have released their final injury report for this week, and they have already ruled out four players. As expected, Maurice Canady Eric Weddle Jersey , Kenneth Dixon, Willie Henry, Hayden Hurst will be inactive for Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Wide receiver and return specialist Janarion Grant has been listed as questionable due to a hand injury. Canady and Dixon were injured during Baltimore’s week one win over the Bills, but their injuries will be something to monitor moving forward. Dixon is expected to be out for several weeks, which could force Baltimore to add another running back to the 53-man roster. For this week, the Ravens will have until 4:00 pm ET on Thursday to make a roster move. They could promote De’Lance Turner or Gus Edwards from the practice squad, but what the corresponding move could be is uncertain.Henry and Hurst are expected to be back in a ‘few weeks,’ but it is still uncertain what week each player is targeting a return. Henry underwent surgery due to a hernia, while Hurst suffered a stress fracture in his foot.
The Panthers defense looks to right the ship after a disappointing performance in Atlanta After an encouraging outing against the Cowboys in week 1 http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-dontari-poe-jersey , the Panthers defense laid an absolute stinker in Atlanta. The Falcons sliced and diced Eric Washington’s unit to the tune of 7.4 yards per play, the highest offensive output against the Panthers since that time Cam Newton forgot to bring an extra tie on a road trip. That game was late in the 2016 season, a season in which the Panthers defense was a total mess. Still, they responded to that drubbing with a five sack, five turnover, one safety performance against the Chargers. They’ll look for a similar bounce back when the Bengals come to Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. The Bengals enter the week as one of the least talked about 2-0 teams in the NFL. Despite ranking just 19th in total yards per game Cheap Ryan Kalil Jersey , the Bengals sit 3rd in the league in scoring, averaging 34 points per game. They rank 4th in the league in points per drive and 5th in the league in drive success rate, according to Football Outsiders. All that is to say their offense is good. It’s not all sunshine and roses for the Bengals though. They’ll be without running back Joe Mixon this week as he recovers from an arthroscopic procedure on his knee. The sophomore sensation accounted for 236 yards and a touchdown through the first two weeks. The equally versatile Giovani Bernard will fill the void left by Mixon, so the Panthers aren’t completely out of the woods there. That brings us to our defensive keys:Don’t let another backup running back gash you. Tevin Coleman was the first running back to go over 100 yards rushing against the Panthers since December 4th, 2016. The offender on that date? Thomas Rawls, another backup running back. Giovani Bernard has been a change of pace back his entire career Cheap James Bradberry Jersey , but he has topped 80 yards in four of the last five games in which he’s received at least 15 carries. Also the Bengals just signed Thomas Rawls on Wednesday, apparently aware of his kryptonite-like effect on the Panthers. Keep James Bradberry on A.J. Green as much as possible. Last week we saw Bradberry hold Julio Jones to a reasonable 64 yards on 9 targets, with 30 of those yards coming on a circus catch in which Bradberry could do little about. The Panthers face a similarly talented wideout in Green, who sits atop the NFL with 4 receiving touchdowns to his name thus far. Green has been spending some time in the slot this season, so some coverage duties will fall to Captain Munnerlyn and the linebackers, but in an ideal world Bradberry will always be on the same side of the field as the Bengals top target. Disrupt the passing game. This is obviously easier said than done Cheap Cam Newton Jersey , but it’s important to note. Andy Dalton has been sacked on just 2.78% of his drop backs, the sixth lowest mark in the league. The lack of pressure has resulted in fewer mistakes for the eighth year pro, as he’s currently sporting the best interception rate of his career. The Panthers front line struggled to get any sort of pressure on Matt Ryan last week and are in for a similarly tough task. However, Dalton is much more susceptible to mistakes under pressure than Ryan is, so the Panthers shouldn’t be afraid to be more aggressive with their blitzing. After one strong performance and one weak one, the Panthers defense currently sits right in the middle of the league in terms of yards and points. This home match-up against a strong Bengals offense will be a great litmus test for the defense heading into the week 4 bye.Panthers preseason report: Week two Last night I went live on CSR’s Facebook page to talk about all the storylines and position battles leading up to the Carolina Panthers first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. During Monday’s padded practice with hitting - but not tackling to the ground - the strain of camp finally seems to have broken through http://www.thedolphinsfootballauthentic.com/ja_wuan-james-jersey-authentic , with multiple skirmishes and chippy-play happening all morning. There were plays where linebacker Raekwon McMillan hit quarterback Ryan Tannehill, knocking him to the ground. There were plays where running back Kenyan Drake was sandwiched between defensive tackle Davon Godchaux and safety T.J. McDonald. The Dolphins also did not have just a skirmish on the field. They did not have just two. They had players going at it four different times on Monday, including one with punches actually being thrown and a blindside shot at Drake. Defensive tackle Antony Moten got into an altercation with running back Senorise Perry, which became a large scuffle, and it took a while to break it up, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Punches were thrown during it, and just after it ended, defensive tackle Gabe Wright threw an elbow at Drake, hitting him from the blindside, which then erupted the second altercation on the day.Moten was not done yet, however, as he then got into another kerfuffle with center Connor Hilland. And, finally, Godchaux and guard Ted Larsen also got into each other at one point. In all, it was a testy day on the practice field for the Dolphins, and they were letting everyone know it.Even Pro Bowl players like Cameron Wake were not exempt from the fun, with the defensive end shoving running back Kalen Ballage at one point. Both sides of the ball seemed to want to up their performance on the day, and it led to some of the conflicts. The defense was actively attempting to force fumbles all practice Womens Xavien Howard Jersey , and some of the offensive players appeared to take exception to the swats. Joe Schad maybe explained the day the best:Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said of the day’s feisty atmosphere, “It’s the second day after an off day. Yesterday wasn’t an intense practice. Everyone is getting tired of hitting each other in camp. That what happens in the NFL about this time every year, every team.”Asked if the intensity kicked up on the day, defensive coordinator Matt Burke replied, “Maybe, yes; but sometimes misplaced. You’ve got to get good work in too. It’s got to be with the context of doing what we’re asking you to do and executing the scheme too. Just coming out here, being a jackass and running around, that doesn’t help us either.” Tight end A.J. Derby weighed in on the day as well, a day which saw him return to practice after being held out with an injury the past few days, saying, “It’s just the dog days of camp. Everyone is tired. Everyone is working. We’re just trying to get better and we’re just going to keep pushing each other.”Defensive end Charles Harris agreed with Derby, telling the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Chris Perkins, “It’s the dog days of camp, but when we go into the locker room, everybody is cool.”Tuesday will be the final day of training camp, with the team preparing to play their second preseason game on Friday against the Carolina Panthers.
