MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens own the NHLs best record, but they arent playing at peak performance ahead of battle with the long-time rival Boston Bruins on Tuesday at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens (10-1-1) won the teams first meeting on Oct. 22 in Boston, in the middle of their 9-0-1 run to start the season.Recently, however, Montreals play started to tail off. In addition to allowing 14 goals in the past two games -- a 10-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday and a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday -- the Habs are also seeing their shots against rising considerably.Montreal has allowed at least 35 shots on goal in four straight -- including at least 40 in two of those games -- and more than 30 in each of the past five games.Despite the high volume of rubber his goaltenders are facing, Canadiens coach Michel Therrien isnt overly concerned.I remember last year, there was a stretch in December where we were outshooting our opponents 40, 42 to 20, 19, 17, and we were losing 3-(1) or 4-1, Therrien said. There was panic across the province. That year, we had a good start. Lately, weve been giving up more shots, but these are things that will correct themselves. Am I worried? No.Therrien acknowledged the team does have things to work on. And while he didnt specify, discipline and the penalty kill are certainly areas Montreal would like to get back on track. Penalized five times in each of the last three games, the Canadiens saw their penalty kill take a hit in their past two outings, allowing four power-play goals against the Blue Jackets and another two to Philadelphia. That potentially is good news for the Bruins, who finally got their power play clicking in their 4-0 win over the Sabres on Monday. Boston (7-5-0) went 3-for-8 on the man advantage against Buffalo; the Bruins were 3-for-38 heading into that contest and had allowed as many short-handed goals as they had scored power-play goals. One of those short-handed tallies came in the previous meeting against Montreal.A little practice (in the morning skate) and obviously some pride in making sure that they were the difference-makers instead of ending up on the negative side, Bruins coach Claude Julien said of his power-play units following the win.The Bruins also are keeping opposing goaltenders busy of late. While averaging 27.5 shots on goal per game overall, Boston has picked it up recently, surpassing the 30-shot mark in four of its past five games.Julien wouldnt confirm who his starting goalie would be against the Canadiens. On Monday, Tuukka Rask started his fifth straight game since returning from injury, and he made 32 saves to blank the Sabres. Rask, who was out when Montreal played at Boston, is 5-15-3 with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage lifetime against the Canadiens. Its one of those games I dont think any player really wants to miss because its a big rivalry and theyre a great team, the netminder said when asked if he would play Tuesday, adding that the decision isnt up to him. Definitely dont want to miss that, but well see.If not Rask, rookie goaltender Zane McIntyre would be eyeing his first career win in his second NHL start. Greens big game got the Bengals back to break-even and left them with reasons for optimism heading into a tough stretch of their season.Green had 10 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown on Thursday night, leading Cincinnati to a 22-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins . After back-to-back losses, the defending AFC North champions are 2-2 and getting a little more complete as key players return.Their best receiver led the way on Thursday. Unhappy with how he failed to make an impact during a loss to Denver last Sunday, a motivated Green beat the Dolphins (1-3) on every type of route .I hold myself to a very high standard, Green said. I know what Im capable of. Last week I didnt perform to that level. I had to refocus on a short week.During the first three quarters, Green had 166 yards on catches while Miami had 152 total yards. Green had catches of 51 yards and 43 yards. He caught a 7-yard pass for Cincinnatis only touchdown -- the Bengals stalled near the goal line and needed Mike Nugents five field goals. The Dolphins depleted offense couldnt muster much beyond Ryan Tannehills 74-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stills on their second play of the game. Not a lot worked, said Tannehill, who was 15 of 25 for 189 yards with a touchdown, an interception, a fumble and five sacks . We really didnt do anything well. It was one of our worst performances from our offense in a long time. Some takeaways from the Bengals solid win:CANT STOP GREEN: The Dolphins had man-to-man coverage on Green much of the time, and he made quick work of it. Green also shredded man-to-man coverage in a season-opening win over the Jets, catching 12 passes for 180 yards. When there were times he was able to get single coverage, we were able to make plays, said Andy Dalton, who was 22 of 31 for 296 yards with a touchdown and a sack. You cant double (cover) him every single snap, so it definitely worked for us today.BURFICTS IMPACT: The Bengals defense expected to be better with linebacker Vonntaze Burfict back from his three-game NFL suspension for illegal hits.ddddddddddddHe broke up a pass, had three tackles, and helped the defense look sharper all-around. The Bengals are expecting the offense to get a boost when tight end Tyler Eifert returns soon from ankle surgery.I just try to be a leader, Burfict said. I know the defenses ins-and-outs. I just want everyone accountable, even myself.DOLPHINS BLOCKERS: A patchwork line had trouble giving Tannehill time. There was a reason for the problems -- Miami had a lot of players in different positions. The Dolphins were missing four starting offensive linemen, two linebackers, running back Arian Foster and tight end Jordan Cameron.Left tackle Branden Albert and center Anthony Steen were inactive with sprained ankles suffered during a win over Cleveland last Sunday. Center Mike Pouncey has missed all four games with a hip injury. We have to put it all together and figure out what we do well and start working on that a little more, coach Adam Gase said.DOLPHINS BLUNDERS: Miami had seven penalties for 68 yards. The most egregious was by Terrence Fede, who pushed Kevin Huber to the ground after he punted in the third quarter. The penalty gave Cincinnati the ball, and the Bengals got a field goal.Thats just one of those things you dont see that often, Gase said. It was really a bad mistake and a costly mistake for us. To be honest, I was surprised it came from Fede.LOOKING AHEAD: The Dolphins begin a stretch of four straight home games against Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and the New York Jets. The Bengals have a tough two-game stretch, playing Dallas and New England on the road. Theyre 1-5 in Dallas, dropping their last three. Theyve dropped their last six at New England, last winning there in 1986.---Online: AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: www.twitter.com/AP-NFL cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
