in their backfield by trading Jordan Howard this offseason and third-round pick David Montgomery joins free agent acquisition Mike Davis as the likeliest candidates to fill it.Early signs about the rookie’s chances of doing that have been positive. Montgomery’s skills in the passing game got a thumbs up from head coach Matt Nagy and running backs coach Charles London said his ability as a runner was also evident right off the bat.London said Montgomery has “pretty rare contact balance Prince Amukamara Jersey ,” which gives him the chance to gain yards even when there’s a lot of traffic ahead of him on the field.“He definitely possesses that,” London said, via Adam Jahns of TheAthletic.com. “It’s important from the running back position because every play is not going to be clean and every hole is not going to be clean. Sometimes you just got to create that on your own. He did quite a bit of that at Iowa State. That was something that we noticed. And that is something you really can’t coach. You either kind of got it or you don’t and he does. It’s something we quickly noticed about him.”London said Montgomery was focused on learning the offense and his role this spring http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-adam-shaheen-jersey , but that he can see the running back taking on a leadership role as time goes on. If the offseason praise turns into regular season results, that may happen sooner rather than later. It’s okay. It happens to the best of us.We all make mistakes from time to time. I remember one time I thought that Dion Sims was going to be a fine addition to the tight end room of the Chicago..."It’s okay. It happens to the best of us.We all make mistakes from time to time. I remember one time I thought that Dion Sims was going to be a fine addition to the tight end room of the Chicago Bears. Yep. I even doubled down on the take after his first disappointing season in Chicago by saying there was a good possibility he could make an impact last season. He didn’t. So when I read such an obvious error in a national publication like the USA Today, I could get all fired up at an obvious attempt to troll a fanbase in such a large market Womens Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , or just assume it was a mistake. The USA Today put out a power ranking a couple weeks ago, and then they they revealed another one earlier today. The one from a couple weeks back was their actual Power Ranking, and they had the Bears at 13.It’s easy to assume the defense could slip a bit with Fangio in Denver Pat O'Donnell Jersey , but we’re still talking the number one defense in the NFL that returns 10 starters. Why can’t they improve? That defense has some young ascending players, and none of them would be considered on the downside of their careers. But let’s assume they do slip a smidge. Why can’t we also assume that the “pedestrian” offense will improve in the second year of the system? Would a better offense help offset the impact of a dominating defense not being as dominant? I think so.That power ranking also has the Bears as third in the NFC North. That’s just laughable. They may as well go full-troll and have the Lions above the Bears too. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking about what I said earlier when I wrote that the USA Today simply made a mistake and they weren't trying to troll us. Yeah, I was talking about their other power ranking http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , the one I just spotlighted is an obvious troll-job. This next one is likely just a mistake since they also have the Bears ranked thirteenth. In what universe is the Bears’ uniform the 13th ranked uni in the NFL?If we were talking the 1940s throwback, that’d be a top three pick easy, but even the classic navy home jersey is a classic deserving of no less than a top 10 place. What are your thoughts on either power ranking?

Womens Uchenna Nwosu Jersey , NFL teams have made a habit out of handing out new contract after new contract to quarterbacks, with in many cases the latest quarterback to sign becoming the highest-paid player in league history.Since June 2017, Derek Carr passed Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford passed Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo passed Stafford, Kirk Cousins passed Garoppolo, Matt Ryan passed Cousins, Aaron Rodgers passed Ryan, and Russell Wilson passed Rodgers, pushing the maximum from $25 million per year to $35 million annually. From those eight quarterbacks we move to another eight quarterbacks, each of whom have contracts lasting one or two years. There’s a growing sense that, at some point, a team faced with high salary demands from a quarterback will say, “No thanks,” trading the quarterback or letting him walk away via free agency. Here’s a look at the likelihood of that happening with any of eight quarterbacks whose contracts are coming up for renewal.Carson Wentz, Eagles: Howie Roseman says that the team wouldn’t hesitate to do the right deal Russell Okung Jersey , for both organization and player. But what’s the right deal? Wentz may eventually fall somewhere in the $10 million divide between Carr’s $25 million per year and Wilson’s $35 million. For now, Wentz’s value is closer to the range of $25 million to $30 million. A season that doesn’t end with a December injury and does end with a Super Bowl appearance or something closer to it puts him in the range of $30 million to $35 million. (A Super Bowl win potentially would put him north of $35 million per year.) The real question is whether Wentz will accept the best offer made before Wentz embarks on a fourth NFL season that could dramatically increase his value, if he decides to roll the dice on his ability to continue to play.Dak Prescott, Cowboys: Prescott quietly took a significant step in his development in the 2018 postseason, beating Russell Wilson in the wild-card round and then performing at a very high level against the Rams, at a time when the running game wasn’t giving Prescott the kind of support he usually has when playing well. For now, the sweet spot seems to be somewhere between $25 million and $28 million, especially since Prescott isn’t the quarterback of [insert name of not very relevant team] but is the quarterback of America’s Team. He already makes seven figures in endorsements, and that will continue as long as he quarterbacks a franchise that drives TV ratings like no other. Throw in the pathway to the broadcast booth that awaits his retirement, and Prescott would be wise to take whatever the Cowboys will offer, as long as he’s at least in the range of Garoppolo.Jameis Winston, Buccaneers: G.M. Jason Licht has made it clear that they’re taking a wait-and-see approach with Winston, whose contract expires after 2019. Some would say there’s no reason to wait, because they’ve arguably seen enough from the first overall pick in the 2015 draft. Coach Bruce Arians told ESPN during the draft that Winston needs to stop “throwing the ball to the other team.” That’s easier said than done, especially when Winston has a bad habit of trying to do more than his physical abilities will allow.Marcus Mariota, Titans: Owner Amy Adams Strunk has expressed hope that Mariota will become the team’s franchise quarterback. This implies http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-emanuel-jersey , obviously, that he isn’t there yet. After four years as a starter, there’s a chance he may never be. Unless he’s willing to accept something closer to $20 million than $25 million, Mariota may not get another deal in Tennessee — especially if Tennessee believes it has a viable alternative elsewhere.Philip Rivers, Chargers: Rivers seems to be at peace with the possibility of having his contract expire, wherever that may lead. He said similar things four years ago, however, before signing a new deal with the Chargers. Then, the team moved to get a deal done. In 2019, will they apply a Band-Aid that keeps Rivers around while they plan for the future, or would they risk the bird in the hand as they search for a different, younger bird that may or may not be in the bush?Andy Dalton, Bengals: The least relevant team in the NFL has the league’s least relevant starting quarterback. Which means they’re a match made in purgatory. The Bengals seem to be ambivalent about keeping Dalton, and he’s a prime candidate to become a free agent after the season, to look around for viable offers elsewhere, and ultimately to take the best offer the Bengals put on the table Womens Forrest Lamp Jersey , like his former head coach did on multiple occasions when becoming a free agent.Cam Newton, Panthers: With two years left on a deal that averages less than $21 million per year, Newton is woefully underpaid. So when does that get rectified? For starters, Newton needs to show that his shoulder has healed. Then, he needs to stay healthy, adjusting his playing style to avoid the kind of contact that results, inevitably, in more injury. He also needs to play at a high level, like he did when becoming the league MVP in 2015. If he can get back to that form, he should get $30 million per year, like another former league MVP who made it to a Super Bowl from the same division in which Newton plays. If Newton isn’t healthy or effective, new owner David Tepper will have a big decision to make.Jared Goff, Rams: The Rams gave up a lot to get him three years ago, but that doesn’t mean they should pay a lot to keep him. Coach Sean McVay inherited Goff, and through two years McVay has surely seen enough to know whether he wants Goff to stick around. Balanced against that is the reality that McVay may be thinking about how another quarterback may be able to better run the offense, especially in light of a season-defining failure to: (1) anticipate that Brandin Cooks would be wide-ass open in a key moment of the third quarter of the Super Bowl; (2) spot Cooks once he was wide-ass open; and (3) deliver an accurate pass that would get the ball to Cooks before he was no longer wide-ass open. That one play could eat at McVay enough during the offseason to persuade him to consider slamming an otherwise wide-open door into Goff’s ass.The unofficial over-under for quarterbacks who won’t get new contracts is 2.5. So what do you take Mike Williams Jersey , over or under? Chime in below. Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is excited to get back this week, even if it is against the Ravens and one of the league’s top run defenses. That’s because he has games beyond this week on his mind, as the Chargers plan for the postseason.“It’s going to be tough,” Gordon said, via Jeff Miller of the . “But we’re going to go out there and knock off some rust and get myself ready for the playoffs.”Gordon has missed the last three games with an MCL sprain, and was close to returning last week against the Chiefs. He worked out before the game, but his lobbying efforts on coach Anthony Lynn were unsuccessful.“He was just trying to look out for what’s best for me and what’s best for the team,” Gordon said. “He felt it would be selfish to put me out there and something potentially happens and [they] lose me for the rest of the year.”The Chargers have qualified for the postseason, making do with rookies Justin Jackson and Detrez Newsome while Gordon and backup Austin Ekeler (neck) were out.Gordon said he was “not 100 percent, obviously,” but that he felt well enough to play, and that’s a huge step for the Chargers as they enter the games that start in two weeks.

http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-jason-kelce-jersey , really, who cares? The most important Super Bowl of all time actually took place last year, when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots by a final score of 41 to 33.But if you’re still interested in this year’s “big game” for some inexplicable reason, here’s a look at some Eagles connections to the teams playing this year.LOS ANGELES RAMSJOHN JOHNSON III - SAFETYLet’s lead things off with a man I’d like to consider an honorary Eagle. In case you missed it, Johnson said he trolled the Saints in the NFC Championship Game because he didn’t like how New Orleans taunted some of his friends on the Eagles’ roster. Respect.BLAKE COUNTESS - SAFETYThe Eagles selected Countess with a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Countess got waived by Philadelphia during final cuts but he signed to the Rams’ practice squad and was eventually promoted to LA’s active roster. In three seasons with the Rams, Countess has made four starts over 37 games played. He’s logged 44 tackles, two interceptions Womens Chance Warmack Jersey , and one sack. He also returned 17 kickoffs for the Rams in 2018. ZAC TAYLOR - QUARTERBACKS COACHZac is the older brother of Eagles quarterbacks coach Press Taylor. Zac has reportedly been hired as the Bengals’ new head coach. There’s some speculation that Zac might try to hire Press away from Philly.AARON NEARY - CENTER (PRACTICE SQUAD)The Eagles signed Neary to their practice squad in September 2016. He remained with the team up until Philly waived him in final cuts prior to the 2017 season. The Rams claimed Neary on waivers from the Eagles. He currently resides on the Los Angeles practice squad. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTSPATRICK CHUNG - SAFETYThe Eagles signed Chung as a free agent back in 2013. He had a pretty awful one-season stint in Philly before ending up back with the Pats. He’s only missed two games since returning to New England. SONY MICHEL - RUNNING BACKThere was some buzz that the Eagles were interested in selecting Michel at No. 32 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Eagles never had the chance, however, as the Patriots took him at No. 31. But that’s not why I’m listing Michel here. He counts as an Eagles connection because his brother, wide receiver Marken Michel, recently signed a reserve/future contract with Philly.JOMAL WILTZ - CORNERBACK (PRACTICE SQUAD)The Eagles signed Wiltz as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2017. Philadelphia waived him in final cuts and the Patriots have been keeping him around as a practice squad guy ever since. ERIC ROWE - CORNERBACK (INJURED RESERVE)The outrage over the Eagles trading Rowe to the Patriots feels like forever ago. Philadelphia’s 2015 second-round pick only played in four games this season before having to be placed on injured reserve with a groin injury. Rowe is set to be a free agent in March. You may also remember Rowe from him getting Moss’d by Alshon Jeffery in last year’s Super Bowl. (Pictured above this article.) The headline might seem hyperbolic but evidence suggests otherwise: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor is THE worst player at his position in the NFL so far this season. Pro Football Focus has Agholor graded 124th out of 124 wide receivers who’ve played at least 25% of their team’s snaps. Football Outsiders has Agholor ranked 66th out of 66 wide receivers in their Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement (DYAR) metric. The numbers match up with the eye test. From dropping multiple game-winning touchdown passes, to failing to track the ball in the air on a weekly basis ... Agholor has been an abject disaster. It’s not like 2019 is merely one down year for Agholor, either. When the sample size is increased Nick Foles Jersey , it’s clear that his good 2017 season was an outlier. Time has indeed told. So, since the Eagles can’t go back in time and decide to not make Agholor the 26th highest paid receiver in terms of annual value this year, what do they do now? Bench him? Cut him?As much as a relief as it would be to never have to watch him play for the Eagles again, I don’t see the Eagles cutting Agholor. That wouldn’t go over so well in the locker room given Agholor’s reputation as one of the team’s hardest workers. Releasing Agholor would also mean forfeiting any chance of him counting towards the team’s compensatory pick formula this offseason. How about a benching? It certainly wouldn’t be unprecedented. The Eagles made Agholor a healthy scratch after 10 games back in 2016. His stats at the time:Now compare those with his numbers through 10 games this season:Not that different, huh? Of course, the problem with benching Agholor is that the Eagles don’t, uh http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-deandre-carter-jersey , exactly have many options at receiver. Alshon Jeffery missed Week 11 with an ankle injury and it’s unclear when he’ll return. Jordan Matthews, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Mack Hollins are the only other receivers on the 53-man roster. Perhaps it’s time to give a chance to someone on the practice squad. Greg Ward looked good in the preseason and fits in the slot. Robert Davis flashed for Washington during the summer. They’re far from sure-fire upgrades but they at least offer theoretical upside. It would be inaccurate to say that Agholor is giving the Eagles nothing right now. That would be an improvement for him. Agholor is actively making the team worse. Something needs to change.

LAKE FOREST Womens Sherrick McManis Jersey , Ill. (AP) — Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long took it too far and knew it.Long had already apologized to teammates for a practice fight last Wednesday night at Halas Hall in which he removed the helmet of rookie Jalen Dalton and began using it as a hammer. On Tuesday, he also apologized to Bears fans and media members.“Obviously what I did was absolutely unacceptable as a human being,” Long said. “As a teammate, without question, what I did was uncalled for and absolutely so far over the line.“It was on me to handle it internally and speak to the people I needed to speak to. I’ve done that.”Long, the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long, was not allowed to take the trip to New Jersey for Friday’s preseason game with the New York Giants. He began practicing again Tuesday with the team and the Bears are keeping further disciplinary action confidential.“It was wrong what I did, and in a lapse of judgment, that’s where I ended up,” Long said. “And it reflected poorly on the organization, the city, the offensive line room and that was never my intention.“Moving forward I intend to make amends.”Bears coach Matt Nagy had said on Monday that Long apologized to the team and coaches.“We’re past it,” Nagy said. “Now it’s not about talking anymore. For us, it’s about everybody showing what we can do.“It’s showing by your actions, whether that’s being a good football player or being a good person. I always tell my kids: ‘Don’t talk about it; be about it.’ So it’s time to start being about it.”The successful training camp and offseason Long has enjoyed compared to some recent ones made the eruption somewhat surprising. Long hasn’t been healthy and able to participate fully in all offseason and preseason work the past three seasons, but has called this one of his best camps.Nagy pointed out the position’s nature lends itself to occasional bouts of frustration.“I’m not surprised because those guys are in the trenches every day banging and sometimes for certain reasons you get triggered and things happen,” Nagy said. “But that’s where we’ve got to be mentally strong, be mentally mature and get past that part.”Yet, Nagy made it clear the behavior won’t be tolerated.“Our guys know it,” Nagy said. “If there was a lot of malicious intent or it continues to keep happening, then I even have more decisions to make.”The incident had been the third fight in three practices and the second one involving Long. Defensive end Akiem Hicks and Long also engaged in a post-play shoving match after a play in the team’s final training camp practice at Bourbonnais.“I think the Akiem-and-I thing, that’s the nature of two giants getting frustrated with each other over the course of time,” Long said. “Akiem and I are good buddies. But when we’re on the field he’s trying to get the quarterback and I’m trying to put him 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage.“He understands that and I understand that. Sometimes we get frustrated. It’s like siblings. We bicker or we push each other around.”Nagy has refused to use starters much — if at all — in preseason games. The first-team offense has been on the field three plays.Long admitted sometimes it gets frustrating facing only the same teammates in practice this late into the preseason Charles Leno Jersey , and players wouldn’t mind facing a different opponent.“I think there are two separate conversations,” Long said. “What I was involved with last week was unacceptable regardless of who we practice against or who we play against, what line of work you’re in, regardless.“But I will say that there is some merit to the fact that we want to (face) other people. We love each other. We enjoy practicing against each other, but it will be nice to see some other people.”NOTES: Guard Cody Whitehair returned to practice after a finger injury last Wednesday. … Tackle Rashaad Coward remained sidelined with an elbow injury and outside linebacker Aaron Lynch is still missing practice with a shoulder injury. … Defensive end Jonathan Bullard was at practice but did not participate. No reason was provided by the Bears. A look at the NFL’s first decade, the 1920s:FRANCHISES: The first season, 1920, the American Professional Football Association had 14 teams, including two Tigers (Cleveland and Chicago). The Akron Pros, Decatur Staleys (later the Chicago Bears), Buffalo All-Americans, Chicago Cardinals, Rock Island Independents, Dayton Triangles, Rochester Jeffersons, Canton Bulldogs, Detroit Heralds, Hammond Pros, Columbus Panhandles and Muncie Flyers also belonged. Eleven returned with the same names for ’21 and were joined by such present-day clubs as the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants.Throughout a decade of flux, many franchises came and went. Such colorful nicknames as the Toledo Maroons, Kansas City Blues and Frankford Yellow Jackets surfaced. By the end of the decade, the NFL had 12 clubs, with only the Triangles and Cardinals in their original locations. The name was changed to National Football League in 1922.TOP TEAMS: Akron was awarded the first championship after going 8-0-3; there were no playoffs and even some games against non-league competition. Indeed http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-joel-iyiegbuniwe-jersey , there were no playoffs throughout the decade. So the titles from 1921-29 went to, in order, the Chicago Staleys; Canton for two straight years, then the Cleveland Bulldogs; the Cardinals; the Yellow Jackets; the Giants; the Providence Steam Rollers; and the Packers.TOP PLAYERS: The “Galloping Ghost,” Red Grange, was America’s football icon, but from his years as a college star at Illinois. In 1925, after the Illini’s season concluded, he signed with the Bears and became the top attraction on the pro level.Grange starred in a barnstorming tour after that season, at one point playing eight games in 12 days. He also claimed he would have gotten more respect had he joined Al Capone’s mob than he did playing for the Bears. He was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1963’s original class.Ernie Nevers, also a Hall of Fame original, joined the Duluth Eskimos in 1926 after the team was rescued from bankruptcy. He also was a barnstorming attraction, saying the Eskimos played in 29 games from coast to coast with 16 players. Nevers scored all 40 points while playing for the Cardinals in a victory over the Bears in 1929.Paddy Driscoll, a triple-threat halfback who also played defense, punted and drop-kicked for the Cardinals — and later for the Bears when the Cards couldn’t afford him any longer —once scored 27 points in a 1923 game. He entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965.TOP COACHES: George Halas, one of the founders of the NFL and, by far, its longest-tenured coach, didn’t win a championship in Chicago, but did lead the Staleys to the 1921 title in Decatur, Illinois; the franchise moved the next year.Curly Lambeau had title success in the decade as the Packers’ boss, winning in 1929 (the first of three consecutive championships). Like Halas, Lambeau was part of the initial Hall of Fame class in 1963.MEMORABLE GAMES: Grange’s debut with the Bears came on Thanksgiving Day against the local rival Cardinals. A crowd of 36 Womens Nick Kwiatkoski Jersey ,000, at the time the largest official gathering for a pro football game, showed up at Cubs Park, not yet known as Wrigley Field. Although the game ended up 0-0 and Grange rushed for a mere 36 yards just a few days after leaving Illinois, he also had an interception and several good punt returns.Driscoll, who briefly played baseball for the Cubs, scored his 27 points on four touchdowns and kicked three extra points in a 60-0 victory over the Rochester Jeffersons, a club that lasted only four games in ’23 before disappearing from the schedule. They returned, but folded in 1925.GAME CHANGERS: The biggest innovation in the earliest pro football decade was, well, money. Bidding wars were common for the college stars such as Grange. There also was a 1929 night game, the first in the NFL, when Providence used floodlights when it hosted the Chicago Cardinals. In 1921, Fritz Pollard became the first African-American head coach in the league. In the modern era, the first was Art Shell in 1989.FUN FACT: When 15 men gathered at Ralph Hay’s card showroom in Canton, Ohio, to launch the 10 charter teams of the National Football League in 1920, there weren’t enough chairs for everyone. A few of the future owners of NFL franchises instead sat on the running boards of the modest Hupmobile in Hay’s dealership. And when they were ready to sign the papers to establish the league, they leaned on the hood of the car to finish up.

Their defenses are tasked with trying to crack the code Womens Chris Long Jersey , so it makes sense that they’d better at defending it too, as Anthony Treash points out:You can hear more on RPOs and the other topics mentioned at the top by listening to The QB Scho Show #26! PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Explaining what went wrong a day after another frustrating loss left the Philadelphia Eagles on the brink of elimination was a difficult exercise for coach Doug Pederson. Why didn’t he go for a 2-point conversion and the win?Why try a quarterback option on third-and-1?Why does the offense still struggle early in games?Pederson didn’t have any answers. It wouldn’t change the outcome, anyway. The Eagles (6-7) moved closer to last place than first place by losing 29-23 to the Dallas Cowboys (8-5) in overtime on Sunday. A victory would’ve put them in a tie for first in the NFC East with a tiebreaker advantage.Their chances of becoming the ninth team to repeat as Super Bowl champions already were slim. Now, it’s even more unlikely the Eagles will even get in the playoffs to defend their title.“It’s obvious we have to do better. We have to coach better. We have to play better Wendell Smallwood Jersey ,” Pederson said Monday.Philadelphia’s offense was anemic until the fourth quarter when Carson Wentz tossed two touchdown passes in a span of 93 seconds. Pederson could’ve been aggressive and played for the lead after Darren Sproles‘ 6-yard TD reception with 1:39 left, but instead made the safe choice to kick the tying extra point. A penalty against Dallas on the attempt gave Pederson an opportunity to change his mind and try the 2-point conversion from the 1-yard line. But he took the point.A tired defense that spent most of the day on the field forced overtime by sacking Dak Prescott twice after the Cowboys were almost in field-goal range. But the offense never saw the ball again as Prescott threw his third TD pass to Amari Cooper in OT.“Everything was in favor of going for one,” Pederson said before giving a long explanation on how Dallas could’ve gone for it on fourth down trailing by a point instead of settling for overtime. “We can spin this thing 100 different ways. I mean, I don’t know. I still stand by my decision.”The Eagles face a daunting task trying to reach the postseason. If they win their final three games http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-chris-maragos-jersey , they wouldn’t need too much help trying to leapfrog two teams. However, they visit the Los Angeles Rams (11-2) next week and host the Houston Texans (9-4) on Dec. 23.“We will never quit. I know that,” Wentz said. “We are just going to keep competing our tails off and practicing our tails off and see where the chips fall.”

up for training camp Telvin Smith Jersey , management-side mouthpieces routinely lament the fact that the player has chosen to violate the terms of his agreement. But there are two agreements that apply to every NFL player: The agreement between player and team, and the agreement between all players and the league. That broader agreement gives each player the right to skip training camp, with the understanding that he can be punished with expensive fine (many of which often are never actually collected). The Collective Bargaining Agreement could have been written in stronger terms, allowing the team to pursue a court order forcing the player to return or giving the team the right to shut the player down for the entire year if he doesn’t show up. Instead, the CBA authorizes teams only to fine a player who doesn’t show up — which necessarily authorizes all players to not show up.Once a player shows up, everything changes. If he later leaves, the team can send him a “five-day letter,” which (obvious given the label) tells the player that if he doesn’t return within five days, he could be placed on the reserve/left squad list. Placement on the reserve/left squad list ends the player’s season http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , prevents him from playing for anyone (even if traded), and tolls the contract that he already doesn’t like for an entire year. That’s why players almost never show up and then walk out. The CBA shifts the power to the team once the player reports for camp.Of course, there’s room for creativity, notwithstanding the team’s power to end the season of a player who reports and then bolts. For most if not all key players who hold out, the team doesn’t want to be without them for the full season. If Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, for example, reports with a pledge from the team to get his deal done and he later grows frustrated by a lack of progress and leaves, would the Cowboys shut him down for the whole season? Hell no.Players also could, if they wanted Womens Ronnie Harrison Jersey , choose to leave, wait for the five-day letter, and then return on day four, perhaps repeatedly. The other dynamic at play when it comes to holding out versus walking out is the distraction factor. It’s less of a disruption for a player to have never shown up than for a player to be there and then literally to disrupt the proceedings by getting up and leaving. For those reasons, it makes far more sense for Elliott, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, Saints receiver Michael Thomas, and Washington tackle Trent Williams to not show up. Yes Will Richardson Jersey , it can get expensive. But they have the power to do it under the labor agreement, and the best way to pressure an NFL team into fixing a contract that has been outperformed is to withhold services by not showing up at all. Tom Coughlin is out as the head of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ front office. The news comes at the end of the Jaguars’ second consecutive disappointing season — and it comes just two days after the NFL Players Association won a grievance against the Jaguars for improperly fining players. The NFLPA encouraged union members to be cautious about signing with the Jaguars, given their propensity for issuing stiff fines, and although Jaguars owner Shad Khan didn’t directly address that in his announcement, his statement suggested that he decided just this week to get rid of Coughlin immediately.“I determined earlier this fall that making this move at the conclusion of the 2019 season would be in everyone’s best interests but, in recent days, I reconsidered and decided to make this change immediately,” Khan said. “I thank Tom for his efforts, not only over the past three years but for all he did from our very first season http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-logan-cooke-jersey , 25 years ago, to put the Jacksonville Jaguars on the map. General Manager Dave Caldwell and head coach Doug Marrone will each report directly to me on an interim basis. My expectations and those of our fans, for our final two games and the 2020 season, are high.”Coughlin has been perhaps the most significant figure in the history of the Jaguars’ franchise, first as the team’s original coach and then in his current stint running the front office. But in both cases he wore out his welcome, and now he’s been fired by the Jaguars for the second time.

this winter’s well-worn path from the Chicago Bears to the Miami Dolphins William Perry Jersey , and that’s not by accident. After signing a two-year free agent contract with Miami that could be worth nearly $18 million including incentives, Sitton said he was drawn to the Dolphins by the recent hirings of assistant coaches Dowell Loggains and Jeremiah Washburn. Both were with the Bears last year. Loggains is Miami’s new offensive coordinator.More Miami Dolphins newsDolphins DB Minkah Fitzpatrick will play vs. Patriots despite trade requestDolphins will try to regroup for Patriots after drubbing at the hands of RavensDolphins can’t contain Lamar Jackson, lose big at homeDolphins versatile offensive lineman Jesse Davis signs extension through 2022Dolphins trade Laremy Tunsil, Kenny Stills to Texans for draft picks“We’ve had a pretty good little friendship over the past couple of years,” Sitton said Friday. “I love his style of coaching. I love his offense. I love the system that they run. Coach Washburn as well — he’s one of my favorite coaches that I’ve had in my career. They definitely played a big part in it.”Washburn is coach Adam Gase’s new offensive line coach, meaning he’ll oversee a makeover up front. On Wednesday, the Dolphins released three-time Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey and acquired center Daniel Kilgore in a trade with San Francisco.Last month Kilgore signed an $11.78 million, three-year contract extension with the 49ers, but became expendable when they signed free agent center Weston Richburg this week.“I don’t regret anything,” Kilgore said. “A month ago when I signed the extension http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , I never dreamed about being in this position. I had the goal of starting and finishing my career there. But this is a new chapter for my family and me, and I think the change will be good.”The Dolphins’ newest acquisitions also include free agent receivers Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson. They’ll combine to replace Jarvis Landry, who was traded to Cleveland. They join a corps of wideouts that includes holdovers Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker.“The way we’re going to put the stretch on some defenses is going to be crazy,” Wilson said. “Danny is a straight-up dog. He’s very similar to me in the slot. He’s going to work and win. When you can count on a guy like that, man, it’s special.”Sitton also is upbeat about his new teammates, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who missed last season because of a knee injury.“With Tannehill coming back and being healthy, I think there are a lot of good parts to this team that are in place, and I think we can be really good Womens Richard Dent Jersey ,” Sitton said. “I want to be somewhere I think we can win, and I think we can do that here.”131<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Miami Dolphins cheerleadersSteve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports | Steve Mitchell I’m kicking off my eleven-part series looking at each position group on the Chicago Bears with the easiest group to handicap, the quarterbacks." Latest NewsRoster AnalysisChicago Bears Training Camp 2019Chicago Bears 2019 Position Battles: Will they carry three quarterbacks?New,16commentsI’m kicking off my eleven-part series looking at each position group on the Chicago Bears with the easiest group to handicap, the quarterbacks.CDTI’m going to breakdown each position group of the Chicago Bears with an eye towards potential training camp battles in this eleven-part series. With Chicago’s rookies and quarterbacks reporting to Bourbonnais today, let’s explore the three QBs on the Bears’ roster, because handicapping the odds for this groups to make the 53-man roster is a piece of cake. Roster LocksThe Bears may not have the best quarterback situation in the NFL, but with Mitchell Trubisky and Chase Daniel as the one and two, the team is confident they have what it takes to win. The 24-year old Trubisky is coming off a Pro Bowl appearance and is primed to make a bigger splash in 2019. He has a swagger that comes from confidently knowing your role within the offense. His coaches and teammates have been lauding his command of the playbook now that he’s entering the 202 phase of the Matt Nagy system. I’m expecting big things from him and his offense in 2019. Daniel isn’t as physically gifted as Trubisky, but the 33-year old veteran has been in a similar offensive system for most of his NFL career. He’s a mentor and sounding board in their quarterback room Dan Hampton Jersey , but he’s far more than just a glorified assistant coach because he’s relatable as their peer. Plus he can sling it when called upon. In two games last year he completed 69.7% of his passes for 515 yards and he helped the Bears beat the Lions on Thanksgiving day. A good bet to make itThe two mentioned above are locks, and the last QB on the roster is on the bubble. On the bubbleHistory tells us the Bears won’t carry three quarterbacks on the active roster, so that leaves Tyler Bray heading home. The practice squad could still be an option for the 27-year old Bray this year according to general manager Ryan Pace, who said about the situation that Bray an “exemption status.” Bray made his debut with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, was injured all of 2014 and 2015, but was back on the Chiefs in 2016 and 2017. He was an inactive member of their 53-man roster for most of his time in K.C.Last year he was mostly on Chicago’s practice squad, but was active during the stretch while Trubisky was injured. Bray technically only has one season on an NFL practice squad, and his previous time being inactive (instead of active) with the Chiefs and Bears makes him potentially one of the oldest practice squaders ever.

COSTA MESA Dan Feeney Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Most teams would not want their bye-week break to happen during a four-game winning streak. It comes at a good time, though, for the Los Angeles Chargers. At 5-2, they have a winning record during their off week for the first time since 2014 despite not having one of their key defensive standouts play a game. Los Angeles is hoping Joey Bosa will be available when it begins preparations for its Nov. 4 game at Seattle.Bosa has been out since early in training camp with a foot injury. He has spent the last two weeks rehabbing at the team facility during the team’s road games at Cleveland and Tennessee in London.“I think it’s going to be really important for him,” coach Anthony Lynn said last week about the bye week for Bosa. “It’ll give us another week and not have the stress of missing a game. I think it can do nothing but help him.”The Chargers struggled with their pass rush early in the season, but have 10 sacks over the past three games, which is tied for fourth-most in the league during that span. Defensive ends Isaac Rochell, Melvin Ingram and Darius Philon each have two sacks.Bosa’s return would create more matchup problems for opposing offenses. He has 23 career sacks in two seasons, including an NFL-record 19 in his first 20 games. The Chargers are ranked 16th in the league in total defense and have struggled on third down as opponents are converting 46.1 percent of the time. That is the third-worst percentage in the league.Offensively, Philip Rivers is off to one of the best starts of his 15-year career. He’s second in the league with a 117.8 passer rating and has a completion rate of 69.1 percent. Rivers’ favorite target over the past three games has been Tyrell Williams, who has 10 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns.Melvin Gordon is fifth in the league in yards rushing (466), but missed the game against Tennessee due to a hamstring injury. Lynn said he held Gordon out in the hopes the injury would not linger and that the fourth-year back would be ready for the last two months of the regular season.Gordon is averaging 5.1 yards per carry, which is over a yard better than his career average of 3.95 yards. He also has 30 receptions and is on pace to surpass his career high of 58 from last season.“I don’t know what it is, we’re just ‘clicking’ right now,” Williams said. “Everybody is trusting the running backs to run and catch. Receivers are making plays and the offensive line is playing really well.”The Chargers will also need to make a decision about their kicker next week. Caleb Sturgis has missed four extra points in five games before suffering a quadriceps injury on Oct. 10. Michael Badgley has made all three of his field-goal attempts and is 7 of 7 on extra points.Los Angeles is looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013 and has put itself in good position. Its schedule is favorable in November as it will face only one team with a winning record. The December slate will be more of a challenge as it includes a late-season trifecta against Cincinnati (Dec. 9), at Kansas City (Dec. 13) and then Baltimore on Dec. 22.“We’ve kind of picked up, in some ways, where we left off last year (when the Chargers won nine of their final 12) http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-watt-jersey ,” Rivers said. “We need to keep it going, though. We know the great teams sustain that over the long haul.” Nearly four decades removed from a stint in the short-lived USFL, Pro Football Hall of Famer Bill Polian will preside over the opening weekend of the newest spring league, the Alliance of American Football.“It’s one more challenge at the end of a long career,” said Polian, 76, who co-founded the AAF with Charlie Ebersol, a TV and film producer whose father, Dick, defined NBC Sports’ programming for more than two decades and created “Sunday Night Football.”Polian simply wasn’t ready for retirement after an NFL career in which he helped build Buffalo, Carolina and Indianapolis into Super Bowl teams, with the Colts winning the NFL championship after the 2006 season. This alternative league seems to stand a better chance of surviving than others, such as the USFL and the World League, because of the people and philosophies involved.“I’ve been pretty vocal about channeling the thoughts of so many of my friends in the NFL, in coaching and player personnel, that since the demise of NFL Europe, it’s needed a developmental league, where players can come in and learn and develop skills Womens Travis Benjamin Jersey ,” Polian said. “When Charlie approached me about this, we discussed it at great length and finally I said, ‘I’m going to put my effort where my mouth is and see where we can make this work.”Polian will catch half of the opening-weekend games in the eight-team league. He’ll be in San Antonio on Saturday night to watch the Commanders play the San Diego Fleet — broadcast by CBS in prime time — and in Tempe on Sunday night to see the Arizona Hotshots host the Salt Lake Stallions. The other opening-weekend games are the Atlanta Legends at the Orlando Apollos on Saturday night and the Memphis Express at the Birmingham Iron on Sunday night.Polian said the USFL took about 22 months to get up and running, and the expansion Carolina Panthers took about 19 months.“We’ve done this in nine months because of so many great former NFL people who are excited to do it, excited to be in it,” Polian said. “We started with nothing and we’re going to open it up on Saturday with eight teams playing what I think will be pretty good football.“That’s a credit to the people involved. We could not have done it if we had not had quality former NFL people.”The AAF is indeed stuffed with executives, general managers, coaches and players who’ve had various NFL experience.Hall of Fame linebacker and Super Bowl winner Mike Singletary is Memphis’ coach.Mike Martz, who was offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams’ “Greatest Show on Turf” Super Bowl-winning team in the 1999 season, returns to the sidelines as coach in San Diego, which two seasons ago lost the NFL’s Chargers to Los Angeles.Mike Vick is the offensive coordinator in Atlanta.Dennis Erickson is head coach in Salt Lake and will face off against Arizona’s Rick Neuheisel. The AAF even has the Head Ball Coach himself, Steve Spurrier, who is coaching the Apollos.Hall of Famer Willie Lanier is an executive in the league office, where former Pittsburgh Steelers stars Hines Ward (head of football operations) and Troy Polamalu (head of player relations) also work.Mike Pereira and Dean Blandino are officiating consultants. Pereira helped develop the unique rules that include no kickoffs, no extra-point tries, overtime rules that call for each team to get one possession and a ninth official, the SkyJudge, who from his perch in the press box can instantly correct “obvious and egregious” officiating errors Keenan Allen Jersey , like the one that marred the NFC championship game.San Diego hired so well that it lost quarterback Josh Johnson to the Washington Redskins in December and offensive coordinator Jon Kitna to the Dallas Cowboys as their quarterbacks coach.Ebersol said the AAF players can leave for the NFL between April 29 and Dec. 29. He said the AAF released 71 players to the NFL and 35 came back and are playing. The AAF says that of its more than 600 players signed to date, 98 percent have been in the NFL at some point over the past 18 to 24 months.Polian and Ebersol said every NFL team had scouts in San Antonio when all the teams recently held training camp and then each played an exhibition game.“We’re not competitive, we’re complementary,” Ebersol said. “We look at the NFL as, we’re going to support your existence, let them play in your league, put content on your network. They’re a partner. The goal is to improve and support the ecosystem of football.”Games will be carried on CBS, NFL Network and Turner.Ebersol is backed by some heavyweight investors from Silicon Valley and also MGM, and has told them he has a five-to-seven-year business model. The Alliance has built a proprietary tech platform that will allow for a real-time, rewards-based system of integrated gaming and in-game wagering for fans in states where sports gambling is legalized. In a nice touch, Kurt Warner is the pregame and halftime analyst for Saturday night’s games on CBS. After being cut by Green Bay, Warner was working in an Iowa grocery store before playing in the Arena Football League and ultimately landing with the Rams, leading them to a Super Bowl victory and being voted NFL MVP in 1999.“Think about how many Kurt Warners are hiding among those kids who don’t get to the NFL,” Ebersol said. “Those are the guys we’re finding.”

Corey Graham Jersey , the Philadelphia Eagles enter their bye week right in the thick of the playoff race. The Eagles (5-4) are soaring off to their mini-vacations following consecutive wins after back-to-back lopsided losses. They beat the Chicago Bears 22-14 on Sunday to stay close behind Dallas in the NFC East. The Cowboys (4-3) faced the New York Giants on Monday night."The challenge this week as a staff is to go back and just assess and re-evaluate and really break down these first nine games and really look at it with open eyes, honestly," coach Doug Pederson said Monday. "We're not game planning this week, so we get a chance to do that."I think out of this, we have to find consistency, especially in our passing game. We have to find a common thread there and we have to see what has been the breakdown, right. You have to be able to target an area, and then plan to fix it. These next couple days will be important for us to make those decisions and try to be a little more consistent moving forward."A season that began with Super Bowl aspirations hasn't gone as planned. The offense has struggled mainly due to lack of production from the wide receivers. DeSean Jackson has played only one full game because of an abdomen injury that he aggravated on Sunday. Jackson is expected to have surgery Tuesday and may not return this season.Alshon Jeffery has been plagued by drops. So has Nelson Agholor. Mack Hollins and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside have been invisible in the passing game.On defense, the secondary was hit hard by injuries early. Starting outside cornerbacks Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills and nickel cornerback Avonte Maddox just played their first game together.WHAT'S WORKINGThe run game is the team's strength. Jordan Howard had 82 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries vs. Chicago. Miles Sanders had 42 yards on 10 carries. The Eagles are 3-0 when they have at least 130 yards rushing.WHAT NEEDS HELPCarson Wentz needs receivers who can get open and catch the ball. Jeffery has 29 catches for 304 yards and two TDs over the past six games. Agholor has only 14 receptions, Hollins has one and Arcega-Whiteside has none.STOCK UPRookie left tackle Andre Dillard was solid in his third career start. He helped hold Khalil Mack to four tackles and no sacks.STOCK DOWNCornerback Sidney Jones http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-corey-clement-jersey , a second-round pick in 2017, was a healthy scratch against the Bears. If he had had the core muscle surgery when he initially got hurt in Week 2, he may have salvaged his season. Now it's unlikely he'll play again this season.KEY NUMBER8:14 — The Eagles dominated time of possession for the second straight week, holding the ball for more than 40 minutes. Zach Ertz - Philadelphia Eagles2018 Stats: 116 Recs - 1163 Yds | 8 TDs - 100.1 WR Rating (passer rating when targeted)PFF Grade: 76.0Key Stat: Caught 83.3% of passes thrown 20+ yards down field (led NFL TEs)Zach Ertz has finally broken out, people. He is one of the biggest pass-catching threats in the league and is the top TE in the division by far. While 2018 was his best pass-blocking season (per PFF) in the last 5 years, his 2013 season actually graded out higher. His run-blocking still leaves a lot to be desired, but his ability to extend plays and move the football outweigh his weakness in the running game. With his BFF Carson throwing him the ball in 2019, look for Ertz to lead the Eagles in targets yet again.2. Evan Engram - New York Giants2018 Stats: 45 Recs - 577 Yds | 3 TDs - 115.6 WR RatingPFF Grade: 76.5Key Stat: 2nd in the NFL among TEs in terms of Yards after Catch per Reception with 8.7 (George Kittle 9.9 YAC/Rec)After taking a nice step forward after his rookie season, Evan Engram is looking to be a very solid player for the Giants. While he is taking the “Zach Ertz Route” to success as a tight end, his ability to be a dangerous pass catcher is among the tops in the league. PFF actually graded Engram higher than Ertz last season, and there is a valid argument that he was the better player. This is an Eagles blog though so... Engram has a corpse throwing him the ball so its hard to predict what will happen, but if the ball gets to him Cameron Johnston Jersey , I can safely predict he’ll have one hell of a season next year. 3. Dallas Goedert - Philadelphia Eagles2018 Stats: 33 Recs - 334 Yds | 4 TDs - 110.0 WR RatingPFF Grade: 74.1Key Stat: Nick Foles had a passer rating of 100 or greater in 4 of the last 5 games when targeting GoedertIts hard for me to put into words just how excited I am to see this guy develop. His rookie season was borderline phenomenal. For comparison, here are the rookie seasons of a few notable tight ends:Zach Ertz: 36 Recs - 469 Yds | 4 TDs - WR Rating 116.4 | PFF Grade: 80.6Jordan Reed: 45 Recs - 499 Yds | 3 TDs - WR Rating 102.0 | PFF Grade: 89.0Rob Gronkowski: 42 Recs - 546 Yds | 10 TDs - WR Rating 143.0 | PFF Grade: 86.7Jimmy Graham: 31 Recs - 356 Yds | 5 TDs - WR Rating 118.7 | PFF Grade: 76.3Greg Olsen: 39 Recs - 391 Yds | 2 TDs - WR Rating 83.5 | PFF Grade: 74.4While some of these guys were better in certain areas, some were certainly worse. While I’m not quite ready to say that Dallas is the next Gronk or Jimmy Graham, I think its very possible he ends up being a better player than Zach Ertz, which is pretty exciting. Goedert should continue to get get more playing time as his career progresses, and with Doug Pederson’s love of heavy sets, there will be plenty of playing time for the sophmore TE next year. 4. Jordan Reed - Washington2018 Stats: 54 Recs - 558 Yds | 2 TDs - 87.4 WR RatingPFF Grade 73.3Key Stat: 3rd most snaps taken by Reed in a single season with 512 (2015 - 764, 2016 -565)Jordan Reeds is only 28. Jordan Reed has had 28 concussions. Dude is pretty great when he plays, but through 6 seasons he has never played more than 14 games. I’m not holding my breath that Reed will ever return to Pro Bowl form, but it really wouldn’t be that surprising if he did http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-paul-worrilow-jersey , either. 2019, with Colt McCoy at QB, might not be the year for it, however. 5. Vernon Davis - Washington2018 Stats: 25 Recs - 367 Yds | 2 TDs - 112.4 WR RatingPFF Grade: 61.4Key Stat: Tied for 2nd in the NFL among TEs with 2 TDs on deep plays (20+ yards)Davis will enter his 14th season in 2019. Its hard to see him continuing to be a deep threat moving forward, but its also hard to see any other tight ends in the division more deserving of the fifth place spot on this list. Much respect to Davis, who, at age 35 is still a prominent deep threat. If only he had someone to throw him the ball. ConclusionThe Eagles take the cake here. For those counting, this is the fourth positional group in a row that the Redskins have not led the division in. Thanks to Pro Football Focus for all statistics involved in this article. Stay tuned to BGN as the series continues with the Offensive Line next.

control of the Bears No one can pinpoint the exact moment NFL coaches collectively decided upon a set preseason schedule that gradually increases playing time with each successive game every year. Along those same lines Womens Walter Payton Jersey , it’s rare that coaches have challenged the thought process of needing live game repetitions in late August to make a regular season matter. That’s how everyone’s always done it, so why attempt something new? This is a fact that especially rings true with the Bears, who have rarely had head coaches effectively alter the status quo and earn the esteem of their peers and critics at the same time. That is, until Matt Nagy, of course.Late Friday evening, the Bears and Nagy announced that most major Chicago starters would not feature in their preseason game against the Chiefs Saturday afternoon. The ensuing raging fervor over the decision to not give a new offense led by Mitchell Trubisky a maximum amount of snaps before Week 1 against the Packers was incredibly palpable. Football players play football, bar none, it was said. They cannot get better if they don’t play football against a live opponent, it was maintained. You risk losing them if you don’t send that message too, apparently. However, that’s an old school way of thinking with no actual research to back it’s credence. Nagy is certainly not one to go with the crowd of absolutely having to play a needless half of football in the summer just because. The Bears have been beating each other up since mid-July. They’ve been playing football and improving in that process. Nagy’s Bears team is far and away independent from what peer pressure says he should do.“I understand that, but I don’t get it http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey ,” Nagy said in the postgame of concern Trubisky and Chicago’s offense missed out on meaningful repetitions. “We’re at almost 2000 snaps in practice. For somebody telling me 25 to 30 reps is going to make(Trubisky) better Week 1, Week 2, or Week 3, it’s not going to happen.”In a game of intense attrition like football, one half of a preseason game can make all the difference where you can lose any given player on any given play. In the grueling grind of of a year, where you can far more stomach losing a player in a regular season game over an exhibition, the decision to feature starters extensively in late August is more a mentality that’s never been taken to task than proven valid. Change in the Bears’ preseason modus operandi was frightening, because it created an uncomfortable situation. It’s only uncomfortable because no one was accustomed to such a preseason shock to the system. And because no one quite understands what Chicago’s offense will be yet, so there was no peace of mind. Yet, crucially, Nagy and his staff possess that tranquility. Change is scary, but it’s the only way to grow. Change means seeing one half of a vanilla exhibition as something that won’t drastically hamper an important result in the standings. “If we win that game against Green Bay Tarik Cohen Jersey , trust me, it wasn’t because we didn’t play 25 plays today,” Nagy said. “And if we lose it, it’s the same thing. I’ll promise you that.”Beyond the decision to push past a preseason boundary many NFL coaches have been either too afraid to broach upon, or too comfortable to consider something else, it was most notable how Nagy defended his preseason resting decision. Nagy didn’t back away from the heat. He didn’t dismiss the concerns altogether and wanted to listen to what was being said. When a Bears’ public relations member signaled for one more question after a barrage from the gathered media contingent, Nagy waved them off breathlessly, “I’m good,” to continue explaining himself. Not only he did veer away from the league’s old boys club, Nagy wanted to help everyone understand why he rested the Bears starters as best as possible. He wanted everyone to see that circumstances are different now at Halas Hall. Circumstances where the leader isn’t afraid to speak up and take a stand when he feels he has to. Most would have the audacity to make a controversial move like Nagy did, but then dodge the criticism and never discuss it again while allowing the rage continue to boil. Most aren’t Nagy. He faces the music head on. He’s only been around the team since January, but Nagy knows what’s best for the Bears first and foremost. Making this preseason resting decision and seeing main contributing Bears like Trubisky and Jordan Howard jubilant on the sideline and in the locker room had to be consoling for him to back that knowledge. That was as clear a sign as any that he’s taken firm control of the reins of this Bears roster and earned their respect. That will mean more in the long run and pay off with fantastic dividends than any one half of a preseason game. Only time will tell whether Nagy is vindicated in his decision to sit Chicago starters against Kansas City. Regardless of whether we do get a definitive answer down the line Womens James Daniels Jersey , the more telling development was Nagy making his first strong-willed move as head coach of the Bears. It’s his team, his way, and he’ll be damned if anyone tells him otherwise. “I don’t care what Bill Belichick does, I don’t care what Andy Reid does,” Nagy said of comparisons to how the NFL’s most experienced coaches operate in the preseason, as he noted he phoned his mentor beforehand. “This is my team.”Robert is an editor, writer, and producer for Windy City Gridiron, The Rock River Times, The Athletic Chicago, and other fine publications. When the Lions drafted Teez Tabor in the second round of the 2017 draft, they hoped they found a partner at cornerback for Darius Slay. That’s not how things have played out. Tabor didn’t play much as a rookie and flopped when put in a starting role last season http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , which led to a benching that resulted in nine defensive snaps between Week Nine and Week 16. Tabor said last week that he responded to the rough year by doing more listening and learning.“I became more coachable,” Tabor said, via MLive.com. “That’s one thing. I just sat back and took it all in last year, and said, ‘Man, I just got to become more coachable.’ They all know exactly what they’re talking about. I’m the student, they’re the teacher. I got to learn from them. I’ve been trying to become more coachable. I’ve been sitting down and taking in all the information they’re giving me.”Slay hasn’t been at OTAs and that’s given Tabor more chances to show how being more coachable has paid off. The reports from practice have been positive, but Tabor said he won’t say anything at this point because he hasn’t “made any plays in this league yet.”Training camp and preseason games will likely determine whether he can find a chance to do that in a cornerback group that added Rashaan Melvin, Justin Coleman and fifth-round pick Amani Oruwariye this offseason.

For most of the season Michael Badgley Jersey , Jimmy Garoppolo hasn't been asked to carry too heavy a load at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers thanks to a dominant defense and big-play running game. The fact that Garoppolo was able to step up last week when those two facets weren't performing as usual is a good sign for San Francisco heading into the much more difficult second half to the season. The Niners (8-0) know they will need more games like that one at Arizona from their franchise quarterback if they are going to make a playoff run."I was very impressed," coach Kyle Shanahan said Thursday. "I thought he played his best game of the year. He made a lot of really good throws in rhythm and made a lot of off-schedule throws where he had to move in the pocket and generate some plays on his own. It was a very impressive game and it would have been very tough to win that game if he didn't play that way."Garoppolo will try to build on that Monday night when San Francisco hosts Seattle in the most meaningful matchup between these rivals in five years.Garoppolo made his 49ers debut against the Seahawks nearly two years ago, when he replaced an injured C.J. Beathard in the closing seconds of a 24-13 loss. Garoppolo completed his first two passes for San Francisco in that game, including a meaningless touchdown to Louis Murphy. But he wasn't able to play against Seattle last year after injuring his knee in Week 3 and will make his first start in the NFC West rivalry this week."It seems like a lifetime ago," Garoppolo said of his Niners debut. "It's a great group year in and year out. They're always one of the top teams and it'll be a great challenge for us."Garoppolo will be the sixth quarterback to start for San Francisco against Seattle since the start of the 2014 season, joining Colin Kaepernick, Blaine Gabbert http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , Nick Mullens, Brian Hoyer and Beathard.Wilson has started all 10 games for the Seahawks in that span, a main reason why Seattle has lost to San Francisco only once in the past 11 meetings thanks to better quarterback play and strong defense."They start with coverage," Garoppolo said. "The blitz has shown up more this year and everything, but they're always a coverage-first team it seems like. It's similar to what they've done in the past. They've had a couple change ups this year with new personnel and everything, but same old same old."Garoppolo has the highest completion percentage (70.8 and passer rating (100.6) in his three seasons with the 49ers but he has been almost a complementary player at times this season on an offense running the ball a league-high 55.9% of the time. Garoppolo threw 25 or fewer passes in three of his first seven starts and didn't reach 300 yards once in that span. But San Francisco needed a lot more from Garoppolo last week at Arizona when the defense was gassed in the second half and the running game stalled.Garoppolo went 28 for 37 for 317 yards and no turnovers, while posting San Francisco's second four-TD game in the past 16 seasons. He was at his best on key downs Philip Rivers Jersey , going 13 for 15 for 160 yards and all four of his TD passes on third or fourth down."Jimmy is awesome," new teammate Emmanuel Sanders said. "He doesn't have an ego. He comes in and works his butt off. He's a high energy guy. He's the type of person you enjoy being around."NOTES: The 49ers signed K Chase McLaughlin after Robbie Gould injured his quadriceps Tuesday. CBS’ Tracy Wolfson reports via Twitter that Rivers believes Henry can play a key role next week in New England against the Patriots if they are able to get through the Ravens today.Henry certainly would have been helpful today Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , but the Chargers offense has enough firepower without him that they should still be able to put up more points than they did in week 16.Last time they faced the Ravens, the offense was driving late with a chance to put them in position to win when Antonio Gates fumbled the game away. It’s unlikely that he or anyone else will display that kind of poor ball security today and if they don’t turn the ball over, they should have success.NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport adds that the Chargers are expected to activate Henry on Monday if they win today:

: Pre-training camp editionNew http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-seth-joyner-jersey ,56commentsLet’s get weird!EDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Eagles 53-man roster projection: Pre-training camp editionTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Mitchell Leff/Getty ImagesThe first 2019 Philadelphia Eagles training camp practice begins at noon tomorrow, Thursday, July 25. The team is currently bringing 89 players into camp. As the summer winds down, though, the Eagles will eventually have to cut their roster down to the regular season 53-man limit. Some jobs will be won and lost based on how players perform in camp practices and preseason games. The following is an early look how the Eagles’ final depth chart could play out. We’ll update these projections on a weekly basis throughout the summer.Note that I tried to make this projection a little more fun/different as opposed to merely replicating my previous 53-man prediction immediately following spring minicamp.OFFENSEQB: Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, Clayton Thorson (3) [3]Wentz looked healthy and great during the spring. If he just can stay healthy, there’s every reason to believe he can have an awesome season. The pressure is on Sudfeld to step up as Nick Foles’ replacement. He can inspire more confidence by having a good summer. Thorson needs to make more progress in camp after struggling during OTAs and minicamp. I lean towards the Eagles keeping their 2019 fifth-round pick as a developmental project, especially with Sudfeld set to be a free agent in March 2020. Cody Kessler is essentially a camp arm.RB: Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement (4) [7]The veteran Howard is the favorite to enter the season as the Eagles’ “1A” in their running back rotation. Howard could eventually lose playing time to Sanders if the rookie really starts to stand out. Aside from Wentz, Sanders is THE most interesting Eagles player to watch in training camp. We didn’t get to see him during spring drills since he was nursing a hamstring injury. Sproles, now 36, is back for what should be his last season for real this time. He’ll likely get a few offensive touches as a role player in addition to returning punts. Clement’s status is a little cloudy, especially with the Sproles re-signing. The Eagles were high on his potential heading into 2018 (per sources) but he underwhelmed during an injury-plagued sophomore season. Clement missed spring practices so we still need to see where he’s at health-wise. Wendell Smallwood is finally gone. Josh Adams, Boston Scott, and Donnel Pumphrey are all realistically competing for a practice squad spot at best.WR: Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Mack Hollins, Charles Johnson (5) [12]And here’s where things get spicy! Nelson Agholor doesn’t make this list because I’m projecting him to get traded. I’ll share what I previously wrote on this possibility:I can envision a scenario where Arcega-Whiteside is looking really great and the Eagles want to move forward with the trio of him, Jeffery, and Jackson. Now, one of the problems with projecting an Agholor trade is that it doesn’t make sense to trade him for draft pick(s). Those picks aren’t going to help an Eagles team that’s aggressively trying to compete for a Super Bowl in 2019. So Womens Jason Peters Jersey , an Agholor trade would likely require getting a veteran player in return (Agholor and a draft pick for Jadeveon Clowney, anyone?). The Eagles will hope that Wentz and Jeffery can have a better on-field connection in 2019. There were some promising signs in that regard prior to last year’s Golden Tate trade. Wentz and Jackson already seem to have a great connection, which is very encouraging. Jackson’s field-stretching ability should make a big difference for the entire Eagles offense. Arcega-Whiteside was one of the top standouts from spring practices and I expect him to impress during the summer. Hollins is still alive, which is great to see, and he can contribute on special teams in addition to being a low usage role player. Keeping Johnson might be redundant with Hollins on the team but the AAF’s all-time leading receiver could make a real run at a roster spot. Johnson will be fighting with the likes of Shelton Gibson, Marken Michel, and Greg Ward.TE: Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Richard Rodgers (3) [15]The Eagles are extremely deep at tight end. The question is: will the Eagles find a way to get Dallas Goedert more involved? He’s too good not to be playing. At the same time, there are a lot of mouths to feed on offense and the Eagles were already among league leaders in multiple tight end sets last season. Dick Rod offers solid depth and special teams contributions. OL: Jason Peters, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Stefen Wisniewski, Andre Dillard, Jordan Mailata, Matt Pryor [10] (25)Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland is counting on a bounce back season from Peters during the left tackle’s age 37 season. There’s a reasonable chance Peters will miss some playing time, though, considering how he struggled to finish games last year. Dillard, the team’s 2019 first-round pick, could be forced into action sooner than expected. Or it could be Vaitai playing left tackle if he’s not already starting at right guard while Brooks is recovering from his Achilles injury. Wis is the top backup interior offensive lineman (while Big V is starting, at least). 2018 late-round draft picks Mailata and Pryor will continue to develop behind the scenes. DEFENSEDE: Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett Brian Dawkins Jersey , Vinny Curry, Connor Barwin, Josh Sweat (5) [30]The Eagles are confident in their trio of Graham, Barnett, and Curry. But what do they have beyond those guys? I’ll say the team ends up re-signing Barwin, even though I question his effectiveness at this stage in his career. Barwin has been talking about how he’s had conversations with Howie Roseman and how he’s bulked up to play 4-3 defensive end. Sweat is definitely one of the most intriguing players to watch this summer but there’s a broad spectrum of outcomes with him. He might be good! He also might be bad. We do know the coaching staff didn’t trust him much as a rookie. Speaking of young guys, I have Shareef Miller — the very last pick of the fourth round — going on injured reserve with a phantom injury. He seems like a developmental guy even if he makes the 53. At least one of Daeshon Hall and/or Joe Ostman are going to be this year’s Steven Means where they tear it up in the preseason but fail to make the roster. Ostman could still stick on the practice quad.DT: Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Timmy Jernigan, Treyvon Hester, Hassan Ridgeway (5) [35]I have the Eagles going with five here since Cox is still recovering from a foot injury and Jernigan almost had a career-ending back issue last year. Cox, Jackson, and Jernigan have the potential to be a VERY disruptive trio if things go according to plan. Hester is a fine fourth guy in the defensive tackle rotation. The Eagles traded a draft pick (albeit a late seventh-round selection) for one year of Ridgeway so they better have some use for him.LB: Nigel Bradham, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Nathan Gerry, Zach Brown, T.J. Edwards (5) [40]Bradham is really the only player at this position who you know what their exact role is going to be. With Jordan Hicks gone, Bradham will be starting in the middle of the Eagles’ defense and making calls. That is, whenever he returns from the injury that kept him out of OTAs/minicamp. Grugier-Hill has the opportunity to step up and be the Eagles’ second most played linebacker. Brown will also be vying for that role. The coaching staff likes Gerry but I just think he’s more of a backup or weakside role player, if anything. I’m keeping L.J. Fort off here because I’m projecting the Eagles trade him for a 2020 sixth-round pick. Fort should have some value since teams were reportedly interested him early in free agency. By trading Fort, the Eagles save over $1.1 million in cap space, recoup a sixth-round pick, and prevent themselves from losing a 2020 fourth-round compensatory pick. The undrafted rookie free agent Edwards stepping up is what makes Fort expendable.CB: Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-sidney-jones-jersey , Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Cre’Von LeBlanc (6) [46] Darby is reportedly going to begin training camp on active/Physically Unable to Perform, which opens the door to the possibility he could begin the regular season on reserve/PUP. I don’t think that happens, though. I think it’s Mills who could actually be on PUP. But we’ll see. There’s a reasonable chance neither Darby nor Mills are even ready for Week 1. If that’s the case, it could be Douglas and Jones starting on the outside with Maddox playing in the slot. I’ll repeat it for the billionth time: Maddox is too good to not be playing at some spot on the defense. Strap makes the team as a good backup nickel and special teams guy. Jeremiah McKinnon had a good spring but there just isn’t room for him on the roster. Same thing for Josh Hawkins.S: Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Andrew Sendejo, Blake Countess (4) [50]Jenkins doesn’t seem to be planning a hold out despite the fact the Eagles haven’t met his desire for a new contract (yet). Good news for the team because the Eagles really need him. McLeod is aiming to be ready by Week 1. He might actually be ready considering he first got hurt in September 2018. If he can’t go, it could be Sendejo starting next to Jenkins. Sendejo is at risk of getting cut/traded with compensatory pick considerations in mind but I already left Fort off so “Dejo’s” spot is more secure. Countess is the new and improved Chris Maragos; a backup safety who is more of a special teams ace.SPECIAL TEAMSK: Jake Elliott (1) [51]P: Cameron Johnston (1) [52]LS: Rick Lovato (1) [53]Lock city. ...PRACTICE SQUAD (10): RB Boston Scott, WR Marken Michel, WR DeAndre Thompkins, TE Joshua Perkins, OL Ryan Bates, DE Joe Ostman, DT Bruce Hector, LB Alex Singleton, CB Jeremiah McKinnon, S Tre Sullivan<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="wQPfey">BGN RADIO PODCAST COMPONENTJohn Stolnis and I previewd training camp and discussed the Eagles’ roster in even more detail on the latest BGN Radio episode. lists James Onwualu as a co-starter at strong-side linebacker with Leon Jacobs Womens Calais Campbell Jersey , but Jacobs is the only one who will be continuing his bid for a starting job.Onwualu suffered a non-contact knee injury in Monday’s joint practice with the Ravens and head coach Doug Marrone said on Tuesday that Onwualu won’t return to the lineup this season.“It’s tough. He has worked his butt off and worked real hard,” Marrone said, via the team’s website. “I saw him [Monday] afterward. It’s just a tough situation. You thank the player for everything he put in, but you kind of know what the road looks like ahead.”Onwualu is the second Jaguars linebacker to go down with an injury recently. Rookie Quincy Williams is expected to miss more than a month with a knee injury of his own.Onwualu landed with the Jags as a waiver claim in April. He had two tackles and a forced fumble in five games with the 49ers last season. We are still relatively early into the 2018 season, but this is arguably the biggest game of the year for the Jacksonville Jaguars, as the team travels to Missouri to take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. This game could go a long way in determining home-field advantage and playoff seedings come January, as two of the AFC’s best meet for a head-to-head encounter. To help prepare us for the AFC showdown, I talked to Pete Sweeney, editor-in-chief of Arrowhead Pride — SB Nation’s essential Kansas City Chiefs website. Pete provides great insights into the 2018 Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes and the matchup itself. Check it out below: 1. Of course, the Jaguars have the No. 1 defense in terms of points allowed (total defense and passing defense as well, but who’s counting?), and the Chiefs have the No. 1 scoring offense in the league. Which side do you think has the advantage and why?Pete: I think the Chiefs have the slight advantage this season in particular because of the uptick in penalties on defensive players. The old NFL clich茅 has been “defense wins championships,” but it really seems like the NFL is trending away from that http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-dede-westbrook-jersey , doesn’t it? Everyone has seen the Clay Matthews penalties the league has doubled down on, and the league released this stat on Thursday: Through the first four weeks of the season, there have been 344 total touchdowns and 3,030 total points scored across the league. Both are the most in history.2. Is the Patrick Mahomes “magic” real? He threw for 300-plus yards and willed his team back last Monday night, and that was considered a bit of a “down” game for him with only one touchdown pass (plus a rushing TD). Do you expect him to keep this pace? What is his floor?Pete:I do. I think the magic we are seeing from Patrick Mahomes is real. During the offseason, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach called Mahomes one of the best players he had ever seen, and head coach Andy Reid did nothing to slow down the hype train. This was very unlike the Chiefs and Reid, so I knew that Mahomes had to have the right traits. What has shocked me is how fast he has taken the league by storm — just five games in. We’re already seeing an ability to do things very few people in the world can do, and I’m eager to see how he performs against a challenge as strong as the Jaguars defense.3. The Kansas City defense has struggled, currently ranking dead last in the NFL in total yards allowed, but looked to be at least somewhat improved last week against the Denver Broncos. On the other hand, Jacksonville’s offense is very inconsistent, capable of absolutely exploding or not being able to score many points at all. Do you think the shaky Chiefs defense can stop the Jaguars’ offense?Pete: I don’t. I think the Jacksonville Jaguars will certainly have their drives. The Chiefs defense hasn’t been great against tight ends, so this could also be the game that Austin Seferian-Jenkins finally gets things going. At least so far Jalen Ramsey Jersey , the Chiefs have looked to be a flat-out bad defense. It’s not going to be whether or not the Chiefs defense can stop opposing offenses this year, it’s going to be about whether they can stop opposing offensives enough to allow Mahomes to take care of the rest.4. Is there a sort of an under-the-radar Chiefs player on either side of the ball (or both) that Jaguars fans should be aware of? Pete: Offense: TE Demetrius Harris. Harris has gotten between 30 and 40 percent of offensive snaps in each game he’s played in this season, but when he’s in the game, he’s worth watching. Even with limited time, Harris has managed three catches for 72 yards and a touchdown, and despite all the weapons Reid has at receiver, he’ll mix in some two-tight end sets.Defense: S Eric Murray. Murray has been improving every week, and he is coming off a Monday night game in which he made a fantastic interception. Murray should likely play next to Ron Parker with Eric Berry (heal injury) continuing to be a question mark for the Chiefs.5. Other than Mahomes’ incredible play, what else is working so well for the Chiefs that has contributed to the 4-0 start: play-calling, offensive playmakers, special teams, etc.?Pete: I think outsiders want to say the Chiefs drafted “a freak” in Mahomes and that’s why they’re winning. That’s true, but it isn’t just that. I look at Mahomes and Reid like a chicken-egg situation. Both are having the early 2018 success because they have each other. Reid has injected a bit of Air Raid (Texas Tech) into the Chiefs offense, which we have now been calling the Air Reid. Reid has been making the right calls and even despite five games of experience Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , Mahomes makes the right decisions more often than not. I joke about this a lot, but it seems like the Chiefs pick a different weapon to feature every week, like on a rotation. Last week was the Hunt and Kelce game, for example. It’s been a few weeks since a Hill explosion, and this could be the week.Bonus: score prediction? Pete: 24-17 Chiefs. I think the Jags do a nice job slowing the game down, but in the end, Mahomes is too much. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the game!A big thank you to Pete for taking the time to speak with me. You can follow him on Twitter, and to stay up-to-date on everything the Chiefs are doing, be sure to follow Arrowhead Pride as well.

http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-singletary-jersey , but that doesn’t mean there still isn’t upcoming events to look forward to. This week we’ll attack all your post-draft questions."Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty ImagesThe 2019 NFL draft is officially behind us, which means we get to obsess over draft picks for the next few months until training camp starts up in late July. Whether it’s over analyzing every pick and undrafted free agent the Chicago Bears have acquired, or predicting who will make the roster in May, the dead part of the offseason is upon. The good news? Over the next month and a half, the team will have multiple rounds of OTAs and mini-camps. This weekend kicks off the festivities with rookie mini-camp, which will future draft picks, undrafted free agents, rookie tryouts and even a few veterans vying for a late roster spot. With all of this in mind, let’s dive into this week’s jammed packed mailbag.I guess I’m not the only one equally as excited about their undrafted free agent haul as their actual draft class, huh?I think it’s worth noting that because of how little draft capital the team had, it gave Pace the opportunity to spent much more time on the back end of the draft and as a result, he had one hell of a go at the priority undrafted free agent class. As far as my favorites, here’s a list of my top five:WR Emanuel Hall (Missouri)TE Dax Raymond (Utah State)OL Alex Bars (Notre Dame)K John Baron II (San Diego State)Edge Chuck Harris (Buffalo)The team will sign 21 total players, but these would be my top five. Hall was a projected second-to-third rounder. Raymond was a mid-rounder that fell in a deep class. If healthy, Bars would have been a third or fourth round pick. Baron is another strong leg to add to their current kicking competition and Harris has some juice as a developmental edge rusher. I’d say there’s a strong chance that a few of these guys make the final roster in September, too.I know a lot of people are always going to want to know who will be “starting” especially on offense. It’s worth keeping in mind that all of their skill position guys will be on a rotation. Whether that’s receiver Womens Dick Butkus Jersey , running back or tight end. Lester and Jacob break down Bears third-round draft pick, Iowa State running back, David Montgomery As far as who I think will “start” Week 1, I think Mike Davis will start off getting slightly more carries per game, but I think by the end of the season David Montgomery will have more total snaps and touches. The team loves Davis, but frankly, I think Montgomery will be the better player and he’s more dynamic, despite his timed speed at the combine.Either way, expect a solid three-headed monster and different players will be featured on a week-to-week basis unless one of them is clearly better over a sustained amount of time.Amazing to think that just two years ago, the Bears marched out Kendall Wright, Dontrelle Inman and Markus Wheaton as their starting receivers...Now, we are looking at a vastly talented group that is very likely going to leave at least one player off the roster that would make 90% of NFL rosters.Right now, they’ve got eight players for a likely total of six total spots. Here are the five roster “locks” so far.Allen RobinsonTaylor GabrielAnthony MillerRiley RidleyCordarrelle PattersonYou don’t take Ridley in the fourth round and not have him on the roster unless he lands on Injured Reserve. It’s also possible that they could carry three running backs and Patterson could moonlight as both a running back and receiver, opening up a seventh spot for one of these three.Javon WimsEmmanuel HallMarvin HallOut of those three, I think they’ll find a way to “secure” two of them. My guess would be Wims and Emanuel Hall. It’s possible they could stash one on Injured Reserve for the year, but some how William Perry Jersey , some way, I expect the first seven to be under team control in 2019.I think this was by design, personally.I mean, think about this- They’ve signed veterans the past few years and where has that got them? Connor Barth was horrible and Cody Parkey had a career worst year and is now costing them over $5 million for the next two seasons to sit at home on the couch.I actually like the approach they’ve taken. They’ve had three tryouts and have signed the three best out of those. Recently they signed Baron as an undrafted free agent, but keep in mind, they have another four rookies coming in for tryouts this weekend, as well. Here’s the thing. If all of these guys fail and they are sitting there in late August with no solution, they’ll have Matt Bryant as an option, as well as multiple cuts from other teams. As you pointed out, Robbie Gould could also be another possibility, but the vibe I’ve gotten from the 49ers side of things is that they are in no hurry to trade him. The kicking situation is going to take some time to play out. But remember, being a successful college kicker means little when translating to the NFL. Players like Will Lutz and even Gould were sub-80 percent kickers in college and have turned out pretty damn well.Right now, the Bears have four kickers on their roster and another four coming in for tryouts this weekend when they hold their rookie mini-camp. Here’s the list:Under Contract: Chris BlewittElliot FryRedford JonesJohn Baron IITryouts:Emmit Carpenter (Minnesota)Alex Kjellsten (McNeese)Spencer Evans (Purdue)Casey Bednarski (Minnesota State-Mankato)I wouldn’t be surprised to see all eight kickers at camp this weekend and it also wouldn’t surprise me to see them switch out one of them for a better tryout player. This will be the first time they’ve seen all four signees in action against each other.I’ll stick with my original prediction for the winner and say Blewitt. The building thinks highly of him and many believe he has the best leg and high “ceiling” out of their current group. Things can change quickly, but that’s my prediction.Looking at the team’s current roster, I don’t see many holes. On top of that, I don’t see a lot of areas where they would be willing to bypass their young ascending talent in favor of a one-year veteran.Obviously we need to see how things play out in terms of health over the next month or so http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , but I don’t see the Bears as a team that is going to be adding much more veteran talent to the mix, at least until after this round of offseason activities. Even then, I have serious doubts that they would add any sort of big name, even if there was a need. My guess is that they are more focused on their current roster and extending players, while trying to see who is sticking out on the bottom of that roster.Dave asked a lot of questions in this week’s mailbag and while a lot of them were good questions, this one was the best. One of the main reasons there has been so much focus on inside runners like Davis and Montgomery is exactly due to the cause and effect of the Run Pass Option (RPO). In order for the RPO to run how it should, inside zone runs are a big part of that. It was also something that I don’t think the team’s coaching staff saw Jordan Howard as a very good fit. Howard’s fit, in my opinion, was more based on outside zone. Where he could stretch out runs and use his patience and vision to gain more yards down field as the play develops. Once head coach Matt Nagy stepped in, the focus on inside zone became a big factor in this team’s offense. Both Davis and Montgomery thrive in this area, which should help the RPO situation and in turn, should help quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. That’s somewhat of a scary question, but probably one that needs to be in everyone’s mind. First of all, let me say that I was more than happy with Trubisky’s progress in year two. With that being said, he absolutely needs to take a sizable step in Year 3 for me (and many others) to believe that he can be the team’s unquestioned franchise quarterback that is capable of winning a Super Bowl.I expect that to happen, but let’s assume that he either doesn’t progress much at all or even takes a Blake Bortles-like step back. In that case Womens Richard Dent Jersey , I think that Pace would have to seriously evaluate him in the offseason and figure out how much confidence they have in him.Much like the Jaguars, the Bears have an excellent roster, but as we saw last year, when Bortles wasn’t playing at a decent level, they were a beatable team and not nearly the same product as they were in 2017.I don’t believe the same will happen with the Bears and Trubisky, but as a third-year quarter, he hasn’t proven enough for any sensible fan to at least have that in the back of their mind.If he doesn’t progress or takes a step back, I would hope that Pace would react fast and at least bring in a capable veteran, but due to their cap situation and investment in Trubisky, they could be in a situation where they are simply stuck with him for another year or two. This is not meant to scare people or present like I don’t believe in Trubisky, because I absolutely do. But if Trubisky doesn’t take another step forward this year, it’s absolutely a setback and one that could limit them in the short-term and long-term when looking at their potential chances of winning a Super Bowl. rivalry and feature the Super Bowl champion Patriots hosting Pittsburgh in the first Sunday night game.As previously announced Michael Badgley Jersey , NFL 100 will kick off with Green Bay at Chicago for the 199th meeting of a series that began in 1921. That Sept. 5 game in the Thursday night slot usually reserved for hosting by the NFL champ forced New England to open three nights later. The Patriots have a home schedule loaded with top attractions, including Kansas City on Dec. 8 in an AFC title game rematch, and Dallas on Nov. 24.Monday night's doubleheader on ESPN will feature Houston at New Orleans and Denver at Oakland."We know every year there seems to be a last-to-first story," said new Broncos coach Vic Fangio, the Bears' defensive coordinator last season. "We were that in Chicago last year. I suppose a lot of teams counted us as a win last year. Every season is a new season and the order they choose for us to play them in, we'll play them in."Week 2 includes an intriguing Monday night matchup of Cleveland at the New York Jets. The very first Monday nighter was a Browns win over Joe Namath and the Jets in 1970. This one will feature the return to the Meadowlands for now-Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and two young, potential star quarterbacks in Cleveland's Baker Mayfield and New York's Sam Darnold.National broadcasts rarely have included the downtrodden Browns, but they're a popular choice this year: Cleveland will have four prime-time games, also facing the Rams, San Francisco and archrival Pittsburgh.Every team will have at least one national TV appearance. New England, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Green Bay, Seattle and the Rams get the maximum prime-time games, five. The traditional Thanksgiving Day games will have Detroit at home to Chicago, then Buffalo at Dallas. The night game to close the holiday schedule will be New Orleans at Atlanta in another long-time rivalry. The NFC champion Los Angeles Rams will host Cincinnati in London for one of five international games on the 2019 schedule. The Rams and Bengals will face off at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 27.Earlier in October Joey Bosa Jersey , the league will play two games at Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium in London. The Raiders will host the Bears on Oct. 6, and the Buccaneers will be the home team against the Panthers on Oct. 13.Wembley will be the site of the fourth London match, with Houston facing host Jacksonville on Nov. 3.The league returns to Mexico, after last season's Chiefs-Rams game was moved to Los Angeles because of poor field conditions at Azteca Stadium. On Monday night Nov. 18, the Chiefs will play LA's other team, the Chargers. In Week 16, the NFL has left 10 teams in semi-limbo. Three games are scheduled for NFL Network on Saturday, Dec. 21, and will be chosen among these five: Detroit at Denver; Oakland at the LA Chargers; Buffalo at New England; the Rams at San Francisco 49ers; and Houston at Tampa Bay. The non-Saturday games will be played Sunday. The season ends Dec. 29, when Chicago finishes at Minnesota for the fourth successive year. All finales are divisional games for the 11th straight season."This is an exciting time," said Giants coach Pat Shurmur, whose team opens at Dallas. "This week, we started the offseason program. And now we can see when we're going to play. We knew who our opponents would be and where we are going to play, but there's an excitement that builds once the schedule comes out."Among the oddities, in one stretch the Raiders will go seven weeks before playing a game in Oakland. They entertain the Chiefs on Sept. 15, then have road games at Minnesota and Indianapolis, host Chicago in London Womens Austin Ekeler Jersey , are off Oct. 13, then go to Green Bay and Houston. They return to Oakland on Nov. 3.Miami opens with four 2018 playoff opponents: home for Baltimore and New England, at Dallas, home for the Chargers. Then the Dolphins have a bye.One team, Philadelphia has three straight home games and three consecutive road games. No other team has three away matches in a row, though the Rams will be away from LA for a visit to Atlanta on Oct. 20, that "home" contest in London the next week, then a bye and a trip to Pittsburgh. Also with three straight home games will be Green Bay, Atlanta, Arizona, San Francisco, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Houston.AP Pro Football Writer Dennis Waszak Jr. contributed. Sam Darnold's final numbers looked every bit like those of a rookie quarterback who struggled through adversity all over the field.Bad decisions, receivers' slippery fingers, a cold, blustery wind and a swarming defense all contributed to the worst game of the Darnold's young career. Still http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , the face of the New York Jets franchise refused to be flustered."Obviously, I learned a lot from that game," Darnold said Monday, "and learned a lot from just watching tape."Darnold was 17 of 42 for 206 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions in New York's 37-17 loss to Minnesota on Sunday. After going 6 of 9 for 87 yards and a touchdown with a 135.0 quarterback rating in the opening quarter, Darnold finished with a dismal 34.4 rating. The second and third quarters were the worst, when Darnold was a combined 2 of 13 for minus-1 yard.New York was 2 of 13 in third-down situations, and the running game 鈥?which lost Bilal Powell to a neck injury early 鈥?couldn't get off the ground while finishing with 71 yards."It's not just Sam," coach Todd Bowles said. "It's the offense, defense and special teams. Our team has to do better, it's not about just Sam. It's about us coaching better. It's about us playing better in all three phases."Through the first seven games of his NFL career, Darnold's overall statistics are hardly eye-popping. And, really, they're barely mediocre. He has thrown for 1,552 yards with 10 touchdowns and an NFL-high 10 interceptions. Darnold's 56.1 completion percentage is near the bottom of the league, with fellow rookies Josh Rosen of Arizona (55.0) and Josh Allen of Buffalo (54.0) the only QBs with at least 100 attempts lower than his. His 74.3 quarterback rating is also among the worst. But there's no panic in Darnold or the Jets , particularly because the No. 3 overall pick in the draft is getting a crash course in life as an NFL quarterback."On the positive side, I thought I was on time with a lot of the routes I was throwing Philip Rivers Jersey ," Darnold said of his performance against the Vikings. "On the two touchdown drives, I thought we played really well. I thought I was able to hit the open guy."The negative, I think just continuing to really lock in on my progressions and really stick on one side of the field and understand what the safeties are doing and what the defense is doing a little bit better. So, just really continuing to grow that way."Darnold insisted the conditions at MetLife Stadium 鈥?46 degrees at kickoff, swirling 16 mph winds and a wind chill of 39 鈥?weren't a factor in his performance. The California kid from USC will have to get used to days like this in the Northeast, though, especially because the only other game in which he played below 50 degrees was at Utah in 2016 when it was 45.And, by the way, Darnold's numbers Sunday were much better when he had the wind at his back."I think that might have been just a coincidence," he said. "I feel like I threw the ball really well in the wind, whether we were going against it or with it. I didn't really feel like that was much of an issue at all."Drops, however, were. The Jets had five against the Vikings. The last of Darnold's interceptions came late in the fourth quarter when his perfectly placed pass went off the hands of Charone Peake and right to Minnesota's Trae Waynes."Whether I throw it to the right guy or whether I made the wrong read," Darnold said, "every single ball I throw I've got to throw it with confidence, and if I do that I think we'll have a better chance."The Jets were also short-handed at receiver, something the team might need to address in the next few days.Quincy Enunwa is out for a few weeks with a sprained ankle Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , and Terrelle Pryor was cut over the weekend while dealing with a groin injury. That left Jermaine Kearse, Robby Anderson and Andre Roberts 鈥?primarily a returner 鈥?as the only experienced players at the position, with Peake and just-promoted Deontay Burnett the others.Kearse, who led the team in receptions last season, finished with none on Sunday and had only two balls thrown his way."Credit to them, they did a great job scheming and their players did an outstanding job executing their scheme," Darnold said of the Vikings. "I think from that aspect, they got us. They did a great job of playing Jermaine and having a plan for him."We will be better. We will learn from it and grow from it."NOTES: The Jets fear S Doug Middleton has a torn pectoral muscle and could miss the rest of the season, as first reported by the New York Daily News. He was starting in place of Marcus Maye, who's out with a broken right thumb. ... C Spencer Long has been dealing with an injured finger on his right hand that has contributed to some bad snaps, but he also limped off the field late against Minnesota. Bowles declined to provide an update. ... The Jets signed WR J.J. Jones and C Jon Toth to the practice squad.

He expressed that his expectation and hope is to remain with the team next season. And while he seemed willing to get a deal done before the season, he seemed untroubled by the possibility of playing the season out and revisiting contract talks afterward.Asked if waiting to sign an extension would leave more money available for “a running back Womens Kyzir White Jersey ,” Rivers responded, “If it does, awesome.” He then expanded by praising Gordon and what the star running back brings to the team.As we wait for the resolution of the Gordon holdout, it seems clear that the issue won’t be the need to prioritize Rivers’ money this Summer. Unfortunately for those hoping to see Gordon suit up in lightning bolts again, he and the team appear to remain at an impasse with the Chargers holding firm on their desire to not overpay for an easily replaceable position and Gordon recognizing that he needs to maximize his last guaranteed opportunity to really get paid.

He had 148 tackles and five interceptions while playing for Minnesota, Tampa Bay, New Orleans and Jacksonville.Marrone says Robinson has "been awesome for us. No issues, no problems. ... However, quarterback Blake Bortles has struggled (11 turnovers in eight games), the offensive line hasn’t played well even when healthy (coach Doug Marrone said he had no confidence in its ability to create space in Jacksonville’s last game), and there are no consistent outside playmakers. First up is the 1st Quarter...CDTShareTweetShareShareChicago Bears 2019 Season Predictions: 1st quarterPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesWith the NFL revealing their 2019 schedule last week, we had to get in on the much-too-early Chicago Bears predictions, but we wanted to break the schedule down into four easy to digest portions of prognostications. Former Bears head coach, Lovie Smith, used to like to break the schedule into four quarters — much like a football game — so we’re going to do the same thing here at WCG. And we’re also going to do it roundtable style to get more of our Bears experts involved in the process. After checking out what we have to say, we want you guys to follow our format and give us your predictions in the comment section. Here’s how the Bears first quarter of the season will go. 1st QuarterWeek 1: vs. Green Bay Packers, Thursday, Sept. 5, 7:20 p.m., NBCWeek 2: at Denver Broncos, Sunday, Sept. 15, 3:25 p.m., FOXWeek 3: at Washington Redskins, Monday, Sept. 23, 7:15 p.m. http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jordan-howard-jersey , ESPNWeek 4: vs. Minnesota Vikings, Sunday, Sept. 30, 3:25 p.m., CBS(All times Central)Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. - (4-0) We’ll learn about the 2019 Bears right away with tough match-ups against the rival Packers and a high altitude game in Denver, but I think the extra time to prep for the Broncos will give them the edge they need to buck history. Prime Time in Washington will be tough, but the Bears are the better team. The Vikings couldn’t beat the Bears when their playoff lives were on the line last year, so why would I think Kirk Cousins can do it in 2019. Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter - (4-0) Where the back-to-back road games may cause some discomfort, I don’t see any of these games being a real test early on. The Vic Fangio Revenge Game has a chance of being close. And, really, I’m ready to see the Bears annihilate the Packers in the season debut at home. Just gotta get my ticket to the game.Sam Householder - (3-1) The Bears can get off to a hot start with five winnable games but I’m not sure they can get through unblemished. The Broncos are an insane 21-1 at home in weeks one and two at home in their current stadium and 51-8-2 all-time. On the other side is Washington, who are 5-22 on Monday Night Football since 2000, including seven straight Monday night losses and a 2-15 record on MNF since 2008. The Vikings are likely to rebound from a down year last year, but by playing at home that game is still winnable for them. I have them dropping the week two match up against Vic Fangio (remember when Adam Gase knew how to attack Fangio’s D? I think Fangio will know how to slow Nagy’s offense).Ken Mitchell - (4-0) Green Bay will be struggling in getting both their offensive and defensive games lined out, and Chuck Pagano’s much more aggressive defense will eat “those people from Wisconsin” alive. I think Week 2 may be the hardest game of the season, because former coordinators know exactly how to attack their old teams and Fangio will make this one tough... still, Bears win. Washington’s a decent team but we should beat them Womens Eddie Jackson Jersey , and color me somebody who has been unimpressed by Minnesota’s offseason.Aaron Leming - (3-1) As much as I want to give the Bears (4-0) through this stretch, Denver’s history at home through the first two games of the season is hard to deny. Add in the altitude aspect and I’m going to give them a loss there, just to play it “safe” There’s one or two of those games on the schedule where it feels like a loss and I can’t ignore that like I did last year with Miami.Robert Schmitz - (4-0) For as much hype as the matchup in Denver is getting, I don’t believe in Joe Flacco enough to predict a loss in this quarter. The season opener against Green Bay is as close to a lock as I can ask for (predominantly due to last year’s horror) and it’s Thursday night slot gives us a ridiculous amount of rest for the matchup against our former defensive coordinator. I don’t believe in either (Washington QB) Case Keenum or Cousins to compete with us, so those look like wins to me. Some wins may not be pretty (Week 2 and 3 come to mind) but I think the Bears are perfect to open the season. LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP)As he prepares for his second season, Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky can sense the difference and so can his teammates. It’s the faith in him and the leadership he’s showing.”I love the position I’m in and the leadership role,” Trubisky said Wednesday.”I have to know the guys are looking at me. Come out every day and bring the energy and make sure I’m taking care of my business so that everyone else’s job is easier around them, too. That’s what I’m trying to do and I love the responsibility and I’m just very excited for the continuous opportunities to move forward and move this team.”How far the Bears go largely hinges on the development of their quarterback.General manager Ryan Pace banked on a big payoff when he traded up a spot with San Francisco last year to draft Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick. He then largely designed the offseason game plan around his young quarterback. The Bears hired the offensive-minded Matt Nagy off Andy Reid’s staff in Kansas City to replace the fired John Fox and overhauled their receiving group, with Allen Robinson the most notable addition. They also added some potential difference makers in the draft, taking Iowa lineman James Daniels and Memphis receiver Anthony Miller in the second round.More than anything, they believe they surrounded Trubisky with the pieces he needs to reach his potential and invigorate a struggling franchise. The Bears have four straight last-place finishes in the NFC North and just one playoff appearance since the 2006 team reached the Super Bowl.Along with the new additions, the Bears are seeing a more comfortable and confident Trubisky.”He is in more control now,” running back Tarik Cohen said. ”He knows the players. He can really call us out. When you’re a rookie, you’re hesitant to really jump on guys. He’s taken over more of the reins. He’s in the driver’s seat now.”It’s a different feeling for a quarterback who wasn’t even supposed to play last season. With just 13 college starts at North Carolina, the Bears planned to have him watch from the sideline.Instead, Mike Glennon struggled and Trubisky started the final 12 games. It was a tough spot for a raw but talented rookie. And though he showed some promise Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Jersey , he clearly had room to grow. It didn’t help that he was working with a struggling receiving group hit hard by injuries. It all added up to an offense that ranked 30th overall and finished in the bottom half for the third time in four years. But whether it’s the new system and pieces around him or just the fact that he’s no longer a rookie, Trubisky is more comfortable. He’s embracing the responsibility that comes with his role, and he can sense the mounting faith in him.”Nothing gives me more confidence than when my teammates believe in me,” Trubisky said. He’s still facing a steep learning curve. The same goes for his teammates and the coaches. They’re all adjusting.”That’s part of being out here, too, with these guys, the nuances of things, the year-to-year editing that you do,” new offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich said. The system is ”100 percent” Nagy’s, Helfrich said.As for Trubisky?”I really like his mindset,” Helfrich said.He sees a quarterback who’s not afraid to ask questions as he grows into the job.”I think we all see through his eyes on a lot of things and through his brain and how he thinks through things,” Helfrich said.”That’s a big part of it, too is just learning how that guy sees things and being able to talk and teach to that. Today he made some mistakes, today he corrected some guys, but he’ll throw that away and build from the good stuff and continue to kind of add a little bit more each day.”NOTES: WR Kevin White said the conversation with general manager Ryan Pace was ”clean cut and smooth” when he found out the Bears weren’t picking up his fifth-year option. He also said he is feeling ”really good” as he works his way back from a broken shoulder. Drafted seventh overall in 2015 and Pace’s first pick as a general manager, White has been limited to five games because of leg and shoulder injuries.—
